I started back at the gym yesterday, 2 miles on the stationary bike and my boyfriend helped me with free weights. I want to know if the 2 smiles A DAY on the stationary bike is a good start? or is there something else I should be doing? My knee can't take to much so after the 2 miles my knee is pretty much done for the day lol any suggestions? I am going to pull out my Biggest Loser DVD's today too and give those a try. I'd really appreciate suggestions.  Thanks! Shannon

I think that's great ! I do 30 minutes on the tread mill or bike & I'm good to go. Trying to work up to 45 but, I just started to exercise again myself. I'd listen to your knee talking to you. Take care

Hi Shannon, MY gosh girl that is ROCKIN  I was not able to do 2 miles for weeks when I first started.  If you have bad knees, you may find you can't run like myself.  Once you feel distance on the treadmill is not enough you may want to try raising the incline.  That is a great alternative if we can run. You are doing a great job and using free weights for building muscle is awesome.  Come to your Move to Lose thread and keep us posted on your progress.  We are there to cheer you on Take care, Kathy

Hey Shannon! I remember you joined a gym...but you went all out for the big guns today, huh!  LOL I doubt my knees could start at two miles either...unless you can handle it, you might  try to start smaller and then work your way back slower til your knees adjusts and strengthens? (This advice coming from someone who is not as motivated to exercise at the moment) LOL I'm getting there now...You're all making me feel guilty.... and motivated!  LOL You're my hero!  Good for you! My 2 miles in 6 minutes was an amazing accomplishment...i have to find a ride to the gym today cuz my truck broke down :( but im going back for 2 more miles haha my knees started to tense up at the end of the 2nd mile but i know that if i wanna go further i have to keep at it. It's nice now that my bf has a membership too so I dont have to go alone!!
