Questions about 5 day pouch test

I am desperate to get back in control of my eating - it's just out of control.  I eat the wrong things, yes, but more damaging, I'm snacking too often and I never feel "full".  I had surgery June 2006, and been holding a 115 pound weight loss, until about 2 months ago when a few pounds crept on, and now another 3 additional pounds crept on.  Enough gaining - I need to nip this in the bud...NOW! I printed out the 5 day pouch test, and think this will help me.  But from what I'm reading, I am a little confused as to exactly what I can (and can't) eat on each day. DAY ONE and TWO 1.  Can I have lowfat milk? 2.  What are the best tasting low carb protein shakes you can buy, premade? 3.  What about hot tea?  I assume this is okay, with sweetener (not sugar, of course) DAY THREE 1.  Can I have cottage cheese?  I know it's a slider food,  but it's also high in protein...? 2.  Could I add 1 slice of lowfat cheese to my eggs and/or tuna? 3.  Can I have lowfat string cheese?   DAY FOUR 1.  Can I eat ground meat PLUS the foods I was allowed on day three?  For example, could I have an egg and some ground turkey with it?  Or is day four ONLY meat and fish? DAY FIVE 1.  Again, can I eat everything I was able to eat on days three and four, as well as solid protein like turkey, chicken, steak, etc...?   Thanks for the answers!  I'd like to try this next week, so I want to go shopping this weekend and get what I need for it.   Tiffany

DAY ONE and TWO
1.  Can I have lowfat milk? Other post say skim milk is okay
2.  What are the best tasting low carb protein shakes you can buy, premade? I really like Slim-Fast Low Carb (Chocolate) & EAS Carb Advantage (French Vanilla)
3.  What about hot tea?  I assume this is okay, with sweetener (not sugar, of course) I think the website says tea is okay.

DAY THREE
1.  Can I have cottage cheese?  I know it's a slider food,  but it's also high in protein...? The website says cottage cheese is okay but to add chopped eggs so it is so much of a slider food
2.  Could I add 1 slice of lowfat cheese to my eggs and/or tuna? yes 3.  Can I have lowfat string cheese?  Other posts have said it is okay

DAY FOUR
1.  Can I eat ground meat PLUS the foods I was allowed on day three?  For example, could I have an egg and some ground turkey with it?  Or is day four ONLY meat and fish? From the way I read it you can incorporate the foods from previous days into the next day

DAY FIVE
1.  Again, can I eat everything I was able to eat on days three and four, as well as solid protein like turkey, chicken, steak, etc...?  Same as above
I am on day 3 today and feel much better than when I graze on crap food all day. Good luck to you.

Now is the time to act.

Go back to exercising.  If you have been already then increase the intensity of it.  Change it up a bit.  Get your heart pumping. You have to move to lose.

You have to go back to the basics.

Go back to eating protein first.  No drinking during and 1 hour after a meal.  And only have protein planned snacks.  Every 2 ½ to 3 hours have something.  Be it freshly ground flax seed mixed with Dannon lite and fit yogurt or a power crunch protein bar.  But have something that will hold you for another 2 ½ to 3 hours until your next meal.

Have lots of water or whatever non fat liquid you may like.

Suck on the Werther’s sugar free hard candies.  Blow bubbles with the sugar free bubble gum.

Night time – again have a snack, sugar free jello with lite, fat free whipped cream, a cup of grapes.

Then water it up and go to bed.

Most importantly stay away from white carbs.  Make sure you only have good carbs.  Rye toast, whole wheat toast, vegetables,  etc.

We no longer need to “diet”.  We just have to remember the rules and follow them.

good luck.
