5 Day Pouch Test Shakes????

Can the protein shakes be skim milk with banannas and strawberry? (and two scoops of zero carb proptein powder of course) if not what kind of protein shakes? water and powder? skim milk and powder? i have gained 20lbs since my surgery 4 years ago.. need to get control back Albert

hallow! that sounds good... i do not  add the fruit in mine..just  2% milk , and a scoop of protein powder(isopure) and am good to go...on the milk i do 1/2 water also because of the the carbs in milk, i try to minimize tht. all the best. Be blessed.

Albert, myself I didn't add any fruit (i.e. the thought process is to decarb and retrain the pouch).  I believe you'll find yourself less hungry and not fighting the headhunger by omitting the carbs, good, bad and ugly, lol. I used protien powder and Carb Control Milk (purchased at Walmart, lower calorie & fat than skim milk, and more protein).  I've since started using the 8th Continent Light Soy milk that I'm really enjoying in my shakes, the nutritional value better! www.5daypouchtest.com  will give you ideas on shake recipes and food recipes during the 5 days. Good luck and congrats on wanting to regain your control before the regain becomes more.

Fellow NYr!!! You can put anything you want into a shake.  Just know that bananas have THE most carbs!!! When I make my protein shakes, I use a pre mixed shake (EAS chocolate AdvantEdge Carb Control-110 cals, 4 carbs, 17 protein) with a scoop of chocolate protein (25 cals 10 protein, 0 carbs)and 2 strawberries (these tend to be low carb) so for about 150 cals and 27 grms of protein I get to stay full for a looonnng time and have something chocolatey. If I need a "banana" type fix, I use the same chocolate pre made shake and use banana flavoring.....with crushed ice and 1/2 splenda it is like eating a chunky monkey!! Whatever you do, enjoy what you are having!  You will do great getting back on track.  Keep this homesick NYr posted, for sure!! Anjanette

I've also added Dannon Light and Fit Carb & Sugar Control Yogurt (only 3 oz for one portion) along with 1 portion of sugar reduced canned fruits (i.e. peaches).  This is added to the pre-mixed Atkins Advantage drinks (Chocolate or Strawberry) with 1 scoop of chocolate protein mix.  I put it all into a blender with 3 oz of water and 12-14 ice cubes.  This makes me one for breakfast and another to have mid-day.  They stay really cold in my office refrigerator because of the ice.

I've also researched and found that some are continuing with the 5 day process by utilizing the protein drinks and the other foods into their daily schedule.  I'm feeling really great and this is my 5th day.  I'm going for it.  I need to lose another 50 lbs.  Lost 12 lbs since Monday.  However, I always lose great in the begining. 

I know I'll get those 50 lbs off.  I wish me luck and all of you as well.
