So... this one goes out to Vitalady, 'cause she may not have a medical bone in her body, but she's pretty darn smart :-)  Of course I also welcome others' comments ;-) I wanted to consult, if you don't mind... in general... how does this look for an RNY proximal chickie? :-)

Morning:

Multivitamin

Vitamin C - 500mg

B100

Zinc - 1x50mg

Vitamin E (dry form) - 1 x 400mg

Vitamin A (dry form) - 1 x 10,000 IU

Selenium - 1 x 200mcg

Mid-morning:

B12 - 1 x 2000mcg (sublingual - Methylcobalamin)

8:00am, 12:00pm, 4:00pm:

Calcium Citrate - 1 x 400mg

Evening:

Iron (from Ferrous Fumarate USP, Ferronyl) - 3 x 29mg (up from two due to low ferritin -7! Thought of going for 4, but not sure...) Of course I'll be adding Vitamin D (not sure about the 50K/100K... maybe 5 or 10K a day? Angie

OK, not medical, just my opinion. Like if I was using a chewablevite, it'd have to be grape flavored. My opinion.

Morning:

Multivitamin
*********** two, right? Total?

Vitamin C - 500mg
********* put this with the iron

B100

Zinc - 1x50mg

Vitamin E (dry form) - 1 x 400mg

Vitamin A (dry form) - 1 x 10,000 IU

Selenium - 1 x 200mcg
*********
caclium

Mid-morning:
**********
more calcium
2nd multi

B12 - 1 x 2000mcg (sublingual - Methylcobalamin)
************ SMART! Methyl is better. can be taken any time

8:00am, 12:00pm, 4:00pm:

Calcium Citrate - 1 x 400mg
********* BA lozenge? That's it? 1200 total? Uh oh. Well, I'd say do this with each batch of vites, except the iron, AND add some UpCal D into your life, only cuz this'd be too expensive to take by the truckload.

Evening:

Iron (Iron (Ferronyl® carbonyl iron) - 3 x 29mg (up from two due to low ferritin -7! Thought of going for 4, but not sure...)
********** um, well, how about maybe 10 of these, with a vit C? I mean, you want to move it, not park it, right?

Of course I'll be adding Vitamin D (not sure about the 50K/100K... maybe 5 or 10K a day?
********** that would hold you at low or you'd still fall. If you wanna get UP, you have to take it in your hands and PUT it there.

since you're asking, calcium is betteron resting bones. can you move the iron into an earlier slot? No caffeine, dairy, egg or whole grain or any other vites, minerals or meds (except C) within an hour? Coupla bites of veggie orfruit are good, tho

Right now just one multivitamin (CENTRUM)... I used to take another one with a second B100 in the evenings... but stopped... bad bad Angie. I edited my original message, but too late.  Just checked and the iron is actually (from Ferrous Fumarate USP, Ferronyl).   10, huh?  You are right, it needs to move up. I have heard you loud and clear on the vitamin D :-) I could do the iron earlier in the day, and take calcium at night, yes...  So... I should be taking more calcium, eh?  They are indeed the BA lozenges... I understand about 500mg are absorbed max at a time, yes?  THANKS SO MUCH!!! Angie

I know there are some antique studies on iron that say fe fumarate is good. Hasn't impressed me yet in 13 yrs.

OK, you're thinking i have a crystal ball here to know that was BA?

They're the only ones I know who sell a 400mg unit.

I adore the cinnyums broken up and served to me on apple slices. OMG! But even, well, ok, I can't afford to take 6000mg a day of those.

I do capsules, UpCal D and the cinnyums as one of my planned snacks.

I take 50k a day of D, and you'll say, well, she's a distal. BUT for years I was taking handfuls of 400's. Then I did 5,000's and put the level in the 60's. I wanted 70, so I put it there. But I was taking 6 of the 5's per day and 2-3 50's. Too complicated, so I went to a single 50 a day, which put my level at 98.6. That's about as high as I want to go. If it shoots over the top of 100 in April, I guess it's back to countingout those pesky lil 5's again.

They're soooo teeny and I'm still finding them in nooks and crannies, under car seats. I've got enough D pills that slipped out of my fingers to restore half the OH site. LOL

But remember, my doc was way ahead on things like A, D, E, iron, but didn't know as much about calcium & B12. So, I've been watching my vit D for more than a decade, which is why I accepted the challenge to PUT my level where I want it. My endo said he wanted 40. I put there. Then he wanted 50. I put it there. Then he wanted 70. I put it there. I was trying to hold 70-80 when it went to 98. Appt with him next week to see how he likes it, based on most recent studies. LOL

PTH WAS over 80, then 60, then 40, now about 20.

I definitely need to reassess and find some cheaper options... If I increase the iron and calcium the BA route, it's gonna break me! :-)

Thanks again!

True. A name brand doesn't make a better product
