Has anyone had this procedure done or know anything about it?  I've read the literature & info, but wanted to hear some first hand experience.  Does anyone have an idea of how much it cost? Thanks

I inquired about it... It is about $8500.00 and as of July of 2007, was not covered by insurance.  You may look into it though, as they may have changed regarding insurance coverage.  I know some who have done it and it is working great.  But, there is no long term studies b/c it is too early.  Just be cautious Good luck!

Thanks I will be self pay anyway as I don't live in USA or have health insurance.  My wls was self pay - I went to Belgium.  I was thinking if I decide to go for it, to travel to America for it and stay with family/friends.  Good to have a ball park figure to think about though. Is there just the one place that does it (the one that advertises on here?)

Definately, not.  There are like 5 or 6 other locations around the US.  Arizona, California, New York, Illinois, to name a few.  You may want to do some research... I would look first into trying to lose weight on your own before you try Stomaphyx.  I have lost 33.5 of the 40 lbs of regain without additional surgery, just more exercise and watching the carbs. Good luck

Thanks Koukla I hadn't realised there was a revision board - I've just been over there reading the posts and it's been very helpful.  I'll spend some more time reading through the posts there for info.
