More in control today
Thanks to all of you who wrote me yesterday---I was really needing the support--and you guys were great! I'm gearing up trying to work up to the 5 day pouch test...
Today not a single M%M crossed my lips--neither did any other candy, cookies etc.
I did graze some---but it was on healthy stuff..and not excessive:
clementines, beef jerky, about .5 oz peanuts, a banana
Breakfast was beef jerky :-/
Lunch was homemade soup and a piece of toast and some cheese
Dinner will be chicken and veg and some brown and black rice mixed together...
I have worked out everyday this week at 5:30---today was 30 minutes eliptical, 20 minutes bike, 10 minutes stetching...
have fallen asleep before 9:00 every night :-(
Tomorrow I'll work on grazing less--but we have a breakfast meeting...akkkkk

So glad for ya !
Problem tho....I'm craving peanut M&M's now ! :)
Getting under control myself. I've only been able to excercise twice so far this week
so good for you !
My goal today is no more coffee & only water. I found recycling water bottles & freezing them helps me. Good thing I'm out of coffee filters.
Good luck at your breakfast meeting !
Kim...
Beef jerky for breakfast? LOL Should try that with a boiled egg too...might be good...hummm?
Good for you though...I'm so glad you are trying the 5DPT...I'm so happy...I lost 4 lbs...nor more carb cravings or the severe hunger pangs at night...and I got my "moon time" (woman thang...I always have it near the full moon so it just stuck) and should be up 4-5 lbs but still holding my 4 lbs loss! So I can't wait to see what happens by the end of the week...By then you should be done with the test too...I hope you have success. I am so happy I did it. I feel 100% better.
Good luck!
Hugs

A Dr. *******s in Washington State is doing ongoing reasearch into obesity. Here is a link to recent research he did on the positive impact of eating a high protein diet and the reduction of the hormone Ghrelin. Probably nothing that is a revelation to most of us, but really nice to have research in hand that supports a high protein lifestyle. I get really tired of family saying I'm eating too much protein.

The second article (older) mentions the possible need for supplemental Leptin. It seems that the metabolism of those who have lost great amounts of weight will slow because the Leptin levels drop to tell the body it is starving. He wonders if this is contributes to why some put weight back on so easily.

I have been working on getting my grazing in control. I have been eating trail mix off and on the past couple of days. Every time I walked past the container of it, I grabbed a hand full and now I am getting tired of it so I am eating it much less. Thank goodness.....
I worked out today 4 miles on the tread mill and weight training for 45 minutes.
Tomorrow is going to be better!
