I have to buy a new swimsuit

My legs look pretty bad, skin hanging down and flapping around. Last year I wore a tankini top and a swim skirt. That skirt had a panty for "modesty' and but it wasn't modest enough and I had to wear some bicycle shorts up underneath it. Also, when I got in the water it would rise up, and now my skin also floats, so I'm really afraid to wear that skirt. I was thinking more about some swimming shorts, but most of the ones I see are awful short. I am 47 years old but I would like to look like I'm 27 in my bathing suit. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Well you can look like THIS 27 year old!  One of the hottest styles is to wear a tank like top with long board shorts.  The best tops are at LandsEnd and for awhile, they are on clearance in their overstock section.  They have molded underwire cups and others as well, but I needed some help holding things up.  But, you get to choose and then you choose your cup size it's awesome.  Here's the link for 16W and up http://www.landsend.com/pp/CustomSolidPaddedUnderwireBandeau TankiniSwim~176303_57.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::B LA&CM_MERCH=IDX_00008&origin=index Here's the link for lower sizes http://www.landsend.com/pp/CustomShadowDotNonpaddedUnderwire BandeauTan~177776_593.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::Z CU&CM_MERCH=IDX_00008&origin=index Here's some board short examples http://www.surfwearhawaii.com/dropin/wahines/havaa/lanikai.s html http://www.surfwearhawaii.com/dropin/wahines/hinano/bubbles. shtml http://www.essentialsurf.com/ikorb.php?func=catalog&category _id=57&product_id=374 The landsend top was essential for me as my breasts are completly defalted.  I was self conscious about the legs as well and found hundreds of styles of board shorts to dress up my black tank.  Put on a pair of Old Navy flip flops and welcome in age 27!!! I know what you mean!  I am in the same age group as you and would like to wear something a bit fashionable.  They have been making nicer tankini suits with skirts.  Maybe you could find one with a bit longer skirt?  I bought a couple, but one bottom fits much better.  I usually wear the bottoms from that one and change around the tops.  I don't see any surgery in my future.  I am not ready for that and don't think that I would ever have the time to recooperate from that sort of surgery anyway.  You know, these are the problems that are much nicer to deal with, instead of deciding that I am just to heavy to wear a suit:)

Wanda, I recommend Landsend also, I bought mine at Sears, love it and it covers the legs pretty good.  My legs aren't horrible to the knees but I definitely have to have a skirt.

I got a really cute suit at alwaysforme.com last year.  You might try checking out the site.  I don't know what size you need..

I was also going to recommend Lands End, LOL! I got a couple great suits from there that have shorts and they're not super short shorts~they give some coverage which I also need. They also have tops with built in underwires which are great! Good Luck!

I got to goal and initially got the 2 pc long tank top style with more of fitted style skirt (not ruffled) and it looked great out of the water and covered my upper thighs and the top striped pattern gave an optical illusion affect to disguise the upper belly skin roll! But you get in the water and it floats up around your waist and it isn't good for playing/swimming plus feels weird!  I thought since it was more fitted it wouldn't ride up.  :( Last year being 15 lbs up from goal after post op pregnancy #1 I had a lot of problems finding a suit I liked but wanted something I could get in the water with my baby and move around.  So I bit the bullet and got a regular tank style Speedo brand from Sam's Club didn't want to spend a lot either with sizes changing.  At least with the criss cross straps they helped HOLD UP/IN the deflated boobs!  The pattern helped with the belly fat!  BUT I was extremely self conscious of my hips/thighs wiggling and jiggling.  I am looking forward to trying the longer shorts and tanks from Land's End this summer.  The lumpy, bumpy lower belly, upper thigh, hip area needs something like that!  Baby #2 is due April 1st so I need to get busy losing weight afterwards!!  I am 34 so no spring chicken either anymore!  Thank you ladies for the suggestions!!!
