Hello to my cyber family! I had surgery 11/28/2006.  I work in a dr's office doing "check out".  The girl I work with had lap band surgery about a month before my surgery.  We are both very supportive of each other and recommend both surgeries to our patients.  We always tell people about this website so they can be as informed as possible in choosing their surgery type and getting support. Anyway...A patient was at my friends window the other day and was telling her how great she looked.  Then she said in a low voice, "What happened to that woman who worked beside you who had the bypass?". Of course, I was sitting right there and just kept my head down working.  The girl I work with told her that was me sitting there!!! This I do believe is my biggest WOW moment!!  All the other wonderful moments since my surgery were topped off by her totally not recognizing me!! Thank you all for your support!!  I don't post often but I'm always lurking and your encouraging words to one another have benefited me greatly!! Your always peeking around the corner friend!! Robin

I love those kinds of wow moments. My favorite was the look I got while with my husband. The women totally didn't know me and was indignant that my husband was cheating on me with some skinny floozy...Talk about WOW...Whoa.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Robin, that is great!! Doesn't that make you feel good?? Also I noticed you were from VA - is that close the Big Stone Gap?? Just asking because I grew up in Johnson City, TN and I now live in Nashville.

I LOVE IT!  Good for you!!! Yay!!! :-) LOL! One of my favorite wow moments was when this guy who had not seen me for a while was walking with a guy who had... they were across the street and the one who'd seen me said something to me... it took a moment for the other guy to realize who I was, and when he did, he screamed (loudly!) "HOLY S###!"... I loved it!  Anyway, sorry... didn't mean to "hijack" your thread!  It just brought back memories... Angie

Just you wait sweetie...those "wow" moments just keep happening. I'm so happy for you.  It's such a good feeling. My favorite wow moment was one I had on my own and it happens now and then still... I was walking in a Target Store when I noticed a woman walk by me in a mirror and I thought, "I have the same jeans, I wish I looked that good in them"...and I suddenly realised...by gosh...that IS ME!!!!  OMIGOD!  I couldn't believe it.  Now it's not the same when I purposely look in a mirror...I think I still look like a hunk of chunk.  I guess my image will forever be warped in my mind...I've done the accidental mirror thing several times with the same result...I am shocked it's me until I see it is and then I start with the self criticisms... It's others *****ally make those wow moments special...I hope you have more to come and share! They are fun to read about. Hugs,  Anita
