Is my scale broken?
I have been mainly a lurker at this forum for over a year and I have never seen a question posted like this. According to my scale at home I have been the same weight since at least April flexuating 2-3 pounds. My clothes however seem to be getting a little tight around my abdomiabelly, butt and thighs. I did have a lowere body lift in July. I have been doing the same exercise routine for about two years. My scale at work and the gym seem to say about the same weight as my home scale. Are all three scales incorrect? Iam I gaining muscle? I am hoping for the second choice. has anyone else had anything similar happen? Help! Can someone just give me some insight would be greatly appreciated?
Thanks
Janet
The only insight i can give here is up your exercise regiment. And consult with your doctor just to make sure its muscle mass and not that unmentionable stuff
! LOL! When i wasn't loosing as fast as my doctor liked he told me to up my exercise. So that may be all you need is to up your exercise. I am no doctor or anything so that is why i say consult your doctor.
God Bless

Janet, I had plastics in March and find my clothes fit tighter also, I did have a 6 lb regain but it's gone now.......I think it's probably muscles and just the difference in your body shape.
I doubt that 3 scales would be wrong, JMO.

Thanks for your reply. After my plastics I lost 10 pounds and I did not look healthy. I regained the 10 and my clothes still fit fine. It really has been the last two months that my clothes have begun to fit differntly. I go back to the ps on Tuesday for my 6 month post op appointment and I will mention to him to get his opinion.

I have a similar situation with clothes tighter, weight same, exercising a lot. My PS is doing a revision to my TT/BL next Thursday. I have not mentioned to him about the tight clothes, but he says my skin has sagged and wants to remove more skin from tummy and lift breast again. You might ask your PS if your skin is sagging and causing your clothers to be tight. I am hoping that after the revision my jeans will fit better.
Also while recouping from surgery, I plan to do 5 dpt. Good luck and let me know how things work out and what PS says.

Thanks for some insight. I don't think my skin is sagging to much. I just had my LBL six months ago. He did not pull my skin real tight. I can grab maybe an inch of skin. I am hoping it is muscles developing since I do over a 100 sit ups with 30 pound weights 3 times a week at the gym. My lower abs protrude out a little bit. Hopefully the PS will have some insight. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Please let me know what your PS says. I have been doing a lot of abs work, too. I take a Power Class. I commented to my instructor that my stomach was not flat. She said body builders do not have flat stomachs. It may be muscles you are developing, but I am hoping the revision on my TT will fix my problem. Some of my size 8 pants are tight . In fact, I hqve quit wearing them.
I told my PS about the exercise I have been doing and told him if my muscles needed more work to fix them. He said okay, but he said he did not think that was problem, because you can see my loose skin.
Please PM me and let me know what PS says.

I can say between years 2 and 3, I too have experienced the same thing. My weight hasn't really fluxuated at all, but things seem to have "filled in" especially in the upper thight and waist area. I have read before that people say things seem to shift around year 3 so maybe that's just it. I can still wear the same size clothing, but things are definitely a bit tighter than they were at 1.5yrs post op. I just feel as though I've become a little thicker in those areas and I too keep up a heavy workout routine~although I don't believe its a muscle gain for me.

Thanks for your response. At least I know I am not going crazy, I am glad to see other people have had similar issues as me. I am finding that I may have to go up a size in some of my pants and I don't want to have to do that. I always said I would be successful at losing my weight and keeping it off. The scale says one thing and my clothes say another thing.
