FitDay or SparkPeople?

Many of us are journaling and I just wanted to know if there was anyone that used both of these or some other tracker?  I use both because while I really want to like sparkpeople, it's a bit too much for me.  I do have an account for recipe calculations and they do have more specific foods and values than fitday, but it's almost too much of a good thing.  FitDay allows to me get "in and out" to a greater extent even though I have to double check info on new foods in sparkpeople. So what do you use and why?

Hi!  About a week ago after my long awaited fill I found Sparkpeople and I absolutely love it.  By tracking carefully I lost 4 lbs. last week.  I guess I realized that I had become lazy in my tracking.  I was eating way to much food.  I am enjoying the site.  I guess it is a personal preference......but so far I am really enjoying it!!  -Holly

I've been using fitday for a few weeks now, and I really like it.  I eat a lot of the same foods (Friendship cottage cheese for breakfast, one of about 6 Lean Cuisines for lunch, usually chicken breast for dinner, etc) so I entered all those foods into my custom food list.   What's the difference between the two?

I use em both! I like the recipes and articles from sparkpeople,,and the charts from fitday. On Spark people you get to chat with others doing the same, a lot like here,,and thats fun. Blessings Betsy

Ok, so I admit it...I'm not a graduate, but I lurk here because you guys always have the best topics!! On this particular subject I can finely chime in!  I've used BOTH sites.  I used Fitday for a couple years and then switched over to SparkPeople.   I LOVE SparkPeople.  I know what the other poster is saying about "almost too much of a good thing" because it is a little more consuming when you get on there...but I'm a sucker for the dumb points...what can I tell you?  I'm a dork!   I want those silly "trophy's" they give out at different points levels...I LIKE the dumb wheel you spin to earn your daily sign-in points...Oh, and I do love just how you set goals, and how you can chart your exercise, weight, vitamins and food and even recipe's all within the same inter-linked site.   Just my 2cents... Now that you mention it, that may be my aversion to Spark...I want trophies too!!!  But since I only log in when I need to check something, my points aren't where they could be.  My inability to devote time to the site leaves me out of the loop to a degree, especially those silly sparkpoints!!!

Any topic changes to "Hot" after a certain # of people respond to it--I think that # is 5 here on the grads board and 10 on the main board.  It just changes to "Hot" by itself!

Always,
Jo

I use fitday.  I tend to go through phases where I eat the same food often and I like how I can enter custom foods in it.  I haven't heard of sparkpeople and will definitely check it out.

I bought the software from Fitday and put on my computer.  I've used it for a couple of years now and really like it.  I like how I can track my nutritents, etc.  I wish they had a way to track your sugar intake. I subscribe to SparkPeople for the articles, etc.  Never really tried using the journal.  I probably won't....too much pressure  lol Donna
