How may proteins should I eat daily?
I am five years out ...gained back 13 lbs and I forgot how many proteins I should eat daily. I went on the 5 day pouch and lost 2.5 lbs. Now, That I am motivated I want to lose the rest of the weight I had gained. I have been recording what I eat on fitday.com My Calories are between 600 and 800 calories...my carbs are also low and The highest protein I have reached is 50. I just need to know what would be a healthy start on proteins, calories, carbs. Can anyone help me????
Gosh I've read many versions of what is the right amount of protein, sorry I can't remember my daily goal is minimum of 80 grams. I usually have to do shakes to get anywhere near that #.
Congrats on the -2.5, you can do it!

I am six years out and just back on track again. I had the same question and here is what I got: Protein over 100, Carbs between 80 and 100, fats between 50 and 60 and calories between 1000 and 1300. I asked my bariatric clinic and they said these numbers look pretty good. I hope this helps. I have been faithfully doing fitday again and it sure helps me. I am trying to loose 30+ pounds so I am trying to burn ketones, I am under that carb count on the average. You can check out my fitday if you like. Your body will hold on to every calorie you eat if your calorie count is too low.

Hi Dana, from another Dana, lol. I shoot for 100 grams of protein daily too, today isn't going so well. As for carbs, I shoot for around 60 but wonder if I should eat a little more good carbs? I'm pretty much where I want to be weight-wise not really trying to lose (well maybe a couple lbs wouldn't hurt). Do you think 60 is too low? It isn't that low everyday (like today it's higher), I'd like to have others opinions if you don't mind sharing.

Hi Dana, I am trying to lose at this point so I try to stay on the low end of the carbs. My guess would be that if you are mostly trying to maintain it would be safe to add the good carbs. I got pretty close to my goal and then slowly forgot the rules and here I am getting back on track. Since I have been back on track I average over 2 weeks 80 carbs per day, somedays more, some days less. I hope this helps,
Dana

IMO that is a hard one to say. Seeing how everyone dr has a different view on how much they should take in. For example my dr me on 60 grams of protiens and any where from 1000 to 1200 calories a day. When I was at 160pounds. Now that I went down between 148 to 153 pounds he put me. On 80 grams of protein and up my calories to 1200 to 1400 a day. Plus I increased my excrise to five days a week. At 8 miles a day walking and 2 hours at the gym IMO i would ask would dr. or your nut what they would think would be best for you. Taichi
I was told 60 - 100 grams of protein daily and to shoot for 100 or slightly over on days when I have a strenuous workout. I average about 1200 calories a day am 2 years out and have been stable for about a year. I try to limit meals to never having over 8 grams of sugar or 12 grams of fat, I and my husband read labels religeously. I also always opt for low or no salt options of products whenever possible. I work out 3 imes a week for about 2 hours. 1/2 hour cardio 1 1/2 weights etc. I started at 253 and fluctuate (hormonally) between 140 & 145. I reached a permanent plateau at about 7 months out and the only drops in weight since have been due to my PS. Best of luck, Sharon
