I have a question about pouch capacity for those who are 2 years plus.

How much can you eat at a meal?  Of dense protein; i.e. chicken and of something softer i.e. brown rice.  What about salad?

I can eat 4 oz of chicken no problem.  At a seperate meal about 1 cup (not packed) of brown rice.  As far as salad goes, I can eat about 3 cups (not packed) of spinach.  Just wondering if my limits are close to others.

God Bless! Jen

Jen, on dense protein I can eat about 3 oz most of the time; rice I would guess about 1/2 cup but will usually limit my intake.  Salad is a pretty good protein if I don't add meat to it, say a couple of cups probably.

I will be 2 years out in May,  and I ;have lost 150lbs. I eat alot..... For breakfast I eat a bagel with cream cheese and 2 cups of decaf coffee, lunch I have a special k bar, dinner I can eat a whole piece of chicken breast, noodles, and a vegetable. With a glass of milk. Then a couple of hours later I eat a whole bag of microwave popcorn. I dont really drink water , I drink the 2 cups of coffee and 1-2 glasses of diet sierra mist. I have only gained back about 7 lbs during this time. I dont know how I am able to do it, but I do.

I am  almost 2 years out. At a typical meal I can eat between 2-3oz dense protien, 1/4 of  brown rice (or other carb) and maybe 1/4 c veg such as brocolli. Another meal might be a few cups lettuce with 2 slices lf cheese and 2 slices of deli turkey breast with some sprays of salad spritzer. Other times I might be able to eat just the 3-4oz of dense protien and nothing else at a  meal.  It sounds like you are doing just fine to me. Sher

I'm almost three years out and I can eat a lot of "slider" food in a sitting.  Most of a restaurant cheese omelet and a piece of toast.  Cup and a half of oatmeal with raisins.   A good cup of soup and a bread stick at Olive Garden.  A cheesy Gordito at Taco Bell.   Two, three cups of coffee at a sitting. Protein dense stuff I can only eat maybe three ounces at a time or I feel like someone punched me in the chest.  Steak, hamburger, chicken is a challenge so I don't eat them often. I gained over the holidays again and I'm jumping back on the "good girl" band wagon.

Hi Jen I am 2 year 3months.  I can only eat about 2-3 oz of steak or chicken.  Bread still doesn't feel good.  I can eat about 1/2 baked potato.   Salad is good but I can't eat like an etire specialty salad for Wendy's or Any of the resturants.  Usually I eat half but I always eat the cheese and protein stuff. Im a little over 2 years out,,and I  have lost 140 pounds, I can eat a few ounces of dense protein, like chicken,,about 4 ounces of tuna,,,I cant do beef, or pork much,,maybe an ounce. I can eat 2 slices of toast with peanut butterfor breakfast occasionally,,whole wheat of course.. Slider foods I can do more. I have noticed since I did the 5 day pouch test I can hold a lot less,,and am satisfied sooner again. I still have a problem with salads, eat a lot of chowders and chili. Be blessed betsy

Still can't eat chicken... 2-3 oz. of turkey or beef.  If I eat more I get that under the ribs pain. can't do more than 1/2 of a sandwich and even then, I usually end up pulling off the last 1/4 of the bread.  Veggies sometimes are OK---about 1/2 cup but broccoli can be iffy.  Had some for lunch today and only ate 3-4 florets. too much fat---salad dressings, popcorn, etc., cause the pouch to become disagreeable. I don't do rice...low carb pasta:  about 1/2 cup. 1/2 baked potato or its equivilent in french fries---maybe 8-10. It really varies a lot by the day. Today Breakfast:  Jimmy Dean Cheese omelet  ate about 2/3 of it. Red Lobster:  6-8 shrimp, some broccoli, 1/2 of the salad.  (gave the fish fillet to DH) Snack:  Atkins shake and Pure Protein Bar Dinner:  Dreamfields spaghetti 1/2 C. with 3/4 C. (heavy on the beef) sauce Right now I'm stuffed.  Some days I'd be starving...... I try to eat what I want and limit the amount because I know one bite too many will still make me sick.
