weight loss after re-gain?
Hi there,
I wondered off course too and have found my way back to OH. I have been hear faithfully for almost 2 weeks. I check in almost every day on the accountability thread and it has helped me hugely! I use www.fitday.com and you can checkout my public profile if you wish. I strive to get 1000 to 1200 calories a day, 80-100 carbs or lower, below 60 in fat and above 100 in protein. I try to drink lots of water and I have begun working out again. I have already lost 6 pounds since I am back on track and I did the 5 day pouch test last week and it really helped me. I had a rough weekend and Tuesday I kinda did a day 3 of the pouch test and it sure helps me keep motivated. I am really trying not to snack, cut carbs and eat protein. I called my Bariatrics program and tghey said the nplan I am on is just right and really encouraged me to Journal so the fitday really helps me. There is another one people use and it is www.sparkspeople.com i think, but I am not familiar with it. Checking in on the journal really makes me aware of the crap I try to eat cause I know I will have to put it on my journal. Well, it is working for me. Good luck and feel free to contact me if having someone to check with. Happy Loosing!

There is hope!!! I am 61/2 years out, I had a regain of 50lbs. All do to my own slacking on the rules. Then I got back on track. I went back to the basics and lost 85lbs! Yes that is 35 lbs more than I gained. I am actually smaller than I was after the initial weight loss. Hang in there!
Terri
Terri,
You have just gave me some hope (as I am sure you have a lot of pple....) I had my sur in April of 2001 and I never did reach my goal my lowest weight being around 165lbs... I then regained up to around 215 lbs and I had lost, mysteriously, 15 lbs . I say that b cause I wouldn't step on a scale unless at a dr.'s office and it was about 5 mos ago when I was at the Dr. and weighed in around 215 lbs, well I decided to give the 5dpt a try and at the beginning I weighed myself and to my amazement I weighed in at 200lbs!!! so that was a real good start to getting back on track, I have (in the past few weeks) lost 10 lbs and I am getting my food under control... Protien, and lots of water, no snacking and eating right and journalling everything... I have not been getting much excercise... it is freezing here and I can't barely handle the cold anymore (I am anemic and low blood...lol...) Anyways as soon as this weather breaks I plan on getting back on a walking/riding my bike routine... Just wanted you to know that you have really gave me some hope.... Wow, 35 lbs less that your original low weight... That's Awesome...

Hello... this is the first time I've been on the site in almost a year. My 5 year anniversary was yesterday. My lowest weight was 190 lbs and a year and a half ago I gained all the way up to 245 lbs. I have dropped to 212 lbs again since July and am working hard. I watch my intake closely and exercise when I can. I'm not going to lie and say I hit the treadmill everyday... I'm happy with my loss. YOU CAN DO IT!!
Terri! If you can do it... we ALL can do it!
That's awesome!!!
I started at 280, went all the way down to 170, gained 7 back almost immediately and stayed at 177 for a good while (give or take 5 pounds), and then... thanks to getting back into the old BAAAAD habits, gained 30 pounds... when I saw I was at 207, I just couldn't believe I'd actually allow myself to see the 200's again!
And so I figured I best do sumptin' before I reallllly embarrassed myself!!!
I have lost about 12 pounds so far by making better food (AND portion) choices, and intend on getting down to 169 (which would make me overweight
, an original goal I never did reach) by my 4-year surgiversary at the end of June... I am horrible at exercise, but I know I need to get much better at it if I want to succeed and then maintain.
Anyway...
Terri, you have definitely inspired me! Yay!
Maybe I can also lose what I gained, and thensome...?
Angie
