VERY CURIOUS...
Hello Tanny,
I used to be a very active long time member here, years ago. I had my WLS back on June 1, 2000. My starting BMI was over 60, and I was only a teenager. Now almost eight years later, I have regained "some" that some being about 80 pounds. Now at the start of a new year, I am actively trying to lose it again, by upping my exercise routine, and faithfully keeping a food journal. So far this year, I have lost about 6 pounds. Currently my BMI is 40. That is still considered morbidly obese, yet, I am still quite healthy, and very active. I play racqet ball several times each week, and I play often with the kids, running around outside, etc.
I still believe my surgery to be a success. Sure, I am still somewhat, "fat" but I am still very healthy, and happier, then I ever was prior to WLS. I also think I am built differently that some, because even though I have a BMI of 40, I still wear my "Walmart" jeans, size 18-20. I think I would easily lose about 40 pounds or so, if I could just get rid of some of this extra evil skin of mine, on my arms and back! :o) I'll need to get health insurance for that to happen though...
Anyways, I dont know if you will find this information helpful or not, but it is my story. I do hope that one day, I could be even more of a success story. I am stubborn enough to help make that happen! Good luck to you, Tanny!
