O.K., I have found this AWSOME Oatmeal bar thingy that tastes way to good to be legal!!!!! I would love to hear your thoughts about how "Good For RNY Patients" you think it is. Keep in mind I only eat these about 1 per week. It is called Fiber One chewy bars. Here is the stats for 1 bar: 150 calories, 4.5 fat grams, 3 proteins, 9 dietary fibers and here is the big whammy 28g carbs. I know the carbs are way to high, but, I only use these to help me stay regular . It seems like one a week is doing the trick. Anywho, just thought I would share this awsome kinda good for you treat. Please let me know your feelings. Terri Before Surgery: 262       Day of Surgery: 249    Current: 149    Goal: 125-130

Terri, the carbs do seem a little high, however, it is is helping you stay regular and you can control how much you eat then I say go for it.

In my opinion, you're better off with fiber one cereal with milk.  I think these bars have added sugar from when I looked at them.

Hey, if it keeps you regular and the 28 g. of carbs doesn't bother you, I say go for it in moderation.  Constipation can be such a problem, that anything that helps mitigate it is good in my book.  Personally, I like Kellogg's AllBran Buds - 70 calories, 13 g. fiber, but also 24 g. carbs.  But, hello, can you say 13 g. of fiber in 1/3 cup cereal for 70 calories?  That's my kind of fiber source - love it mixed with light yogurt...   I tend to eat my high-fiber snack before I exercise - then I'm getting the fiber, plus I can burn off some of the carbs through exercise (and it gives me energy so I feel good while working out).   Good luck on your continuing journey -  Kellie

Thanks for all of your advice!!! I agree that just the fiber one cereal w/ milk is better for you but I was adding just the fiber one cereal to my yogurt and it help a little but these bars seem to do the trick completely!!! Moderation, Moderation, Moderation, got it!!!!!! My plan is to buy one box and allow myself 1 bar per week!!! I also exercise everynight for about 2 hours. Weights and Cardio so I think I should be O.K.

I eat the Fiber One bars~they're my snack and like you , I  need the added fiber to stay regular. I just tried their new oatmeal and caramel one and it was pretty good~chocolate is still my favorite tho! Anyway, I haven't noticed any trouble with maintaining while eating them~its way better for me then having a snickers bar, LOL!!!!!!!!
