Would you do 5dpt now or wait?

Hello Denise!
It's so good to read that you are concerned and seeking support!
If I were in this situation, I would wait until after my recovery to do any drastic weight loss or jump back on track protocal. Your body needs to utilize every possible resourse right now so I would focus on HEALING.
ALL of my doctors say that it takes a full 18 months for the body to fully recover. I don't have enough patience in me to wait it out that long but I believve that the opinions and guidance of your health care professional(s) is what is crucial at the time and that their advice should be followed!
I hope this helps!
Best to you and yours in 2008 and always!
I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side. The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.

Congratulations on the bracheoplasty! I'm sure you look marvelous!
I'd say go ahead and do the 5DPT now. You're motivated to get back on track now, so take advantage of it. I think it would be easier to do at home too.
One of the amazing things about the 5DPT, like you I can eat anything. Since finishing the 5DPT (1/7), I've dumped twice. Once I ate 3 bites of my son's mac and cheese, the other some cherry cobbler. I've learned my lesson, no white carbs, no sugar!
Michele

I know this sounds bad but about your dumping but - Congratulations! I'd consider it awesome if it happened to me because it's enough to keep me on track (thus the problem). My original goal weight was 140. I got down to 146. Now I'm 152 so I want that 140 BADLY!
I think I'll wait just one more week (get this damn drain out so I'm not so uncomfortable) and then jump right in on the next 'weekend' so I'm doing the liquid part while I'm home (I'm already back to work full time) and by Monday I'll be on day 3 which is easier to manage when not at home....
We're going on a cruise in May (Mother's day) and I'm determined to hit goal (which is only 12 lbs away) by then - especially due to my fear of gaining 5lb on the cruise!!
Thanks for your advice ladies!!
Denise, this is just my opinion.....I think it would be safe to do the 5DPT because you are basically doing protein (which is important for healing on your plastics); however, you might want to consult with your surgeon to get his/her advise.
I know the 5DPT worked great for me to refocus.
