angry, confused and so mad at my Surgeon
Hi, Diana - sorry you are having such a frustrating time. Are you doing a food journal and tracking your food intake? If not, is that something you would be open to doing? I'm 26+ months out and I've been tracking my food and weight daily for about 20 months now. I started at 396 pounds and am now at 188. I lost about 30 pounds during 2007, and every one was a hard fight. I have to tweak my food intake every so often because if I do the same thing in terms of calories and diet composition, my body adjusts quickly and any weight loss stops. I also don't lose ANYTHING unless I'm exercising. So please, please, please stick with your new exercise routine.
I'd encourage you to analyze what your eating in terms of daily (1) calories, (2) carbs, (3) fiber, (4) fats, and (5) proteins. Track what you're doing for 2-3 weeks, then look at where you can make adjustments. Maybe you need to add some carbs because of your new workout routine; try a piece of fruit or yogurt as a pre-workout snack. Maybe you need more protein. Maybe you need to eat more balanced meals (some carbs, fats and proteins at every meal - can lead to greater and longer satiation because of how the body breaks these things down into usable components). But look critically at what you're doing now, think about some logical things to try changing, change them for 2-3 weeks, track how you're doing, then decide if you need to try something different.
It's not easy, but it is doable. And you will make it 180; it may take a year, but you will get there. I have faith -
Kellie
