Few calories and weight gain

Last week I failed to really eat like I should (had the crud), kind of missed meals and this past MOnday I was up 5 lbs. This was the first time I had gained that much since my surgery.   I just could not understand why I gained when I didn't eat much.  I went back on Fitday .com and logged what I ate to the best of my ability for the past week.  I was very lucky if I had gotten in 500 calories.  Monday (after seeing the gain) I decided I needed to get back on track.  I pretty much eat off of the WW plan, my calories increased plus my protein...I logged  my intake on Fitday, I lost the 5 lbs by Friday.   It shows that your body does need the right amount of food in order to lose and / or maintain your weight...

Hi Jodi,

I think I fell victim to the same thing. I even posted about it here. Its amazing how that much weight can show up all of a sudden, and even more amazing that it goes away with diligence on our part. I went to fitday also and logged my intake, and attributed the gain to water weight and my increased exercise. I dont think I was getting enough to eat.

Are you following the WW core plan? or the points?  I am seriously thinking of doing that again, I am weighing daily anyway, but plan to switch to weekly weigh-ins and think I will get the accountability by going to meetings and weighing in. I always learn new things too when I go to meetings so it would not be a complete waste of time.

Glad to hear that you got rid of those menacing pounds and you are back on track. You have done really well and I know you must be proud.

Best of luck to you!

Angela

Isn't that the truth.  Some people say our bodies don't go into starvation mode, but I am convinced that they do.  If I don't get the right amount of cals and stuff in, I don't lose and sometimes even gain.  I just hate that.  But we can't be healthy without proper nutrition either.  Hazel

I completely agree. It seems that everyone's needs are so different based on their body, workout routine, etc so it takes some trial and error to get it just right (when you're not sick that is). Glad you're feeling better now!!!!!
