Hi there, I totally got back on track on New Year's Day. In fact, I have worked out every day but two days since Jan. 2. I am eating great.....averaging 1000 cals a day, low carb, protein first. Since Jan 1st, the scale has gone down just 2 lbs and goes back and forth. When I wasn't on track, it went back and forth the same 2 lbs! I am also drinking water....like 75 ounces a day!  Before, I wasn't doing protein first, stopped counting calories, and didn't exersize. Any ideas as to what is going on? I am very frusterated!

Way to go for getting back on track!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure what your workout routine is, but 1000cal is pretty low. Have you tried bumping that up to around 1200cal per day? I have found that this takes some much trial and error b/c everyone's body seems to require something different. Be sure to get plenty of lean protein and some good carbs to fuel your workouts.  Good Luck and keep us posted on how things are going!

Hi there, Thanks so much for responding so quickly. MY workout routine right now is 20 minutes at 3.7 on the treadmill and then 20 minutes on the elliptical. The entire time my heart rate is about 150...but varies slightly, mostly slightly up a little.  I am so frustrated.....I haven't been this good in a long time! UGH!!!!! Thanks again! Off to my Weigh****chers meeting....not so much for the program but for the weekly accountability!

I think I have an idea about what's going on... You have set the bar (of weight loss) too high! Do the math MommyTeacher:   in the course of 10 days you have lost 2 pounds...which translates to an average of 1 pound every 5 days, or just about 1.5 #/week.  Should you sustain your current momentum over the course of 2008, you will have lost just under 80 pounds.  If what you are doing today is reasonable, healthy, and comfortable...and can be morphed into a lifestyle vs. a diet...my guess is that you will be successful for the duration. Give yourself a gold star. Karen
