OMG Debra, We do have so mu*****ommon.  I grew up in Kalamazoo, MI and loved MI.  Do you know how I got into beading?  After I lost my first 100 pounds I wanted some piece of jewelry to honor what I had accomplished and couldn't find anything.  So I created a WLS Inspiration bracelet.  It was so much fun and lots of members bought one...and the rest is history We lived over my the Fox Valley Mall for 25 years and wanted to move to the country.  Well that was 4 years ago and Plainfield is just like all the other areas....they seem to not be able to plow the farms down fast enough and put up houses.... What part of MI do you live in? Take care, Kathy

Newbie poster here...I did a 35min Pilates for Weight Loss DVD last night and this morning  before work...trust me, that's a BIG deal for me and it's strenuous enough without having me jumping all over the place at 5am.  My goal is to do this workout daily in the morning and at night, and get to the gym for some elliptical training at least 4 times a week.  This is a great thread, I'll keep you posted!

Created some new workout combos from Exercise on Demand for the new year.  Found a new one and did my upper body, abs, AND one I thought for be a "nice break"---ballet strength!!!!  Ouchie!  I'm feeling it today---inner thighs---oooooo.  Lots of squats and plies.  It was good pain! Karen

Yep, we've had downpours all day today, starting about 4 a.m.  And although I retired in May (h.s. guidance counselor), I've been doing some subbing for the teachers at my school, and OF COURSE, I got called today to come in!  As I sat in the parking lot at 7:15 in the midst of a torrential rain, waiting for a little lull in the action before attempting my "flight" into the building, I was sure thinking, "Why am I not home in bed??" Oh well, so I was fighting w/ myself about if I was going to drag myself to the gym after leaving school, and as I was walking out to my car, my DH called to let me know he was headed for the gym--so that was my answer--I said, "Wait for me!"   I still just did cardio today--treadmill & elliptical--for 50 min.  The fan in my area wasn't on, and I was DRENCHED!   I know I need to get back into doing some weight/resistance work, which I haven't done since right after T-giving.  I know I'm just putting off the soreness that will result!  I'll just have to make it a point to get back into it slowly.   Thanks for your continual inspiration!!

Always,
Jo

Hi Kathy,  We had unbelievable weather here on the East Coast Tuesday.......over 70 degrees.  Did my normal mile swim in the morning and after finishing my normal household routines, took a wonderful 30+ mile bike ride around the county.  Felt great as I hadn't ridden my bike in a couple of months.   I can't seem to lose anything these days because there is always some banquet or function or birthday, etc.  But I am happy to maintain my 175 pound weight loss for almost 4 years now.   Joann
