Day 5, 5DPT, Now it's Back to Basics!

Day 5 of the 5DPT has come to a close for me.  The last 5 days have gone well for me, and I feel as though I've done well with my goals....no grazing, no simple carbs, planned meals, and adequate protein and fluid.  Unfortunately, I did not do well on the exercise front, but I will when I'm ready.  I know that exercise is important for body and soul...baby steps, baby steps. Today, my eating looked this: 10:30 1 egg, 1/2 c corned beef hash (I don't know how/why I crave this occassionally....I usually think of dog food when I look at this!) Decaf tea, lots 1pm 1 c navy bean soup (homemade) went grocery shopping and was out a long time.... 3pm Skinny Latte 5:30 grilled steak, spoonful of sauteed onions, zucchini pieces Unfortunately, the steak is not sitting well with me.  I'm going to have a Stallone Pudding if I lose the steak, and tonight a protein shake. After today, I'm planning to eat like I've done for the last couple of days....I usually eat every 3 hrs or so, which works out to 6-7 small meals, I'll continue to eat protein first and stay away from the junk. When I do indulge, it will be planned and limited. I'll continue to do well with my fluid intake.  And, some day soon, I'll exercise! I don't know if I've lost any lbs., that wasn't one of my goals.  I'll get weighed in 2 wks at a drs appointment, and then I've made a resolution to weigh daily at home after that.  I am terrified of the scale.  On one level, I know the scale should be "my friend", and on another I associate with all of those times I've felt humiliated by stepping on it.  Yes, I need scale therapy. So, did you last 5 days on the 5DPT?  How do you feel? Was it helpful for you?  Anything you'd like to share with those who may be starting it soon?

Well, I am now done as well. Esp since it is 1:00 am here and have a fussy baby that is keeping me up! Ugh I really stuck to the plan and did not incorporate salads or anything else into it. My one thing I ate outside of the protein was some cooked brocoli and cauliflower last night with my steak.  I have found yesterday and today that I am not hungry in the least. Not only no carb craving but not hungry, period. Way cool! And amazingly enough when I weighed myself this morning....................I am down 6.5 pounds! WooooT. That is a huge loss for me. I tend to drop one and then sit there forever. I am excited to see what the morning scale reading is.  Hope everyone else was successful with the 5dpt!! Take care

Baby steps big time. But, can definately feel a differance. Brought back some good memories of "feeling thin" like something is happening again. Me too...going to try to eat like I have been the last couple of days only add shrimp & chicken. Whatever works ! Have a great week ! THINK THIN !

I blew it on day 5, my husband was hungry for chinese so we went out for lunch, I have trouble with chinese I think its the sauces or that the vegetables arent cooked down enough for my pouch. I did have a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream last night, settles my stomach. I must say I am not craving carb, I had been down 4 pounds but was back up 2 this morning.  Today I will focus on protein and vegetables. When I need to snack I eat a handful of almonds, which I know are good for me. Good luck to the people just starting today, Debra
