Oh my god. I never imagined this would be this hard! This is my first day on the pouch test. Let me just say I am glad one day is almost over. I feel HORRIBLE. I have a headache......my face is all flushed and feels like I have a fever but I don't LOL. This is weird! I guess I was a serious carb addict because this is some major detox!  I think the only time I felt somewhat satisfied is when I had the tomato soup.  How is everyone else doing on theirs? I seriously feel so crappy that I am probably going to bed really early tonight just to not feel it anymore lol.  Tomorrow I am going to attempt to work out, but if I feel like this I might not be able to. In that case I will wait till saturday when I can actually eat something!

I'm on day 2, it's not as bad as day 1!    I made some of the split pea soup on the 5dpt recipe list, it was much more filling than the cream soup I had yesterday. Did you have some fruit?  Kaye recommends an orange or an apple to help with the headache.  Worked for me yesterday! Michele

I found that I felt really nausous if I didnt keep my self "water loaded " Also the warm lemon water helps. Making the home made soups is more filling and less sodium than the canned. We reallly shouldnt need to do this any more than once every six months if we continue to stay away from the carb monster after the test. I am starting day 3 and dont have any cravings for carbs at all. I am down 3 pounds this morning , I have been drinking around 100 ounces of water, teas, and crystal light, the more water you drink the more you will lose and get your system flushed. I had a headache yesterday also.  good luck, Debra

Thanks for the words of encouragement girls! I am glad that I am not the only one who felt this way. I slept ALOT last night and I do feel better now. I just think it is interesting that I honestly NEED to eat more at night because that is when I felt the worst!  I am just going to try to get through today. Yesterday I made some decaff tea with splenda, and for some reason when I drank it I felt sick. Maybe I drank it too fast.  Good news anyway is......I lost 2 pounds! In just one day! That is exciting. At least I know this is all for a good cause :-)

KimmieP, I'm with you. I'm on Day 2 of  the 5dpt today and I am losing my mind to the head hunger.  I know it is head hunger, because I'm eating soup and jello and protein shakes (gag) and drinking water like mad (and peeing like non-stop) but I am positively DYING for something to CHEW on. I'm really trying hard not to think about food, but people at work keep making popcorn in the microwave and talking about where they went to lunch, etc.   Not sure if I have lost any weight yet, but I am too tired to exercise. More protein would help, if I could manage to gag it down. Distressing. Guess the carb monster really has a hold on me.  Day 1 was a breeze until dinnertime, and just like you, I would describe last night and most of today so far as "torture." This feels like a diet.  :(  Lucky for me it's ONE DAY at a time. If it was a 5 WEEK pouch test, I'd be in the loony bin by day 3. :p

Haha if it was a 5 week pouch test, I would be right in there with you!! Seriously I could not do this for another day. I am so so excited to get up tomorrow morning and make some scrambled eggs!! Seriously I need something to fill my stomach. This has been a crazy experience, but I actually managed to do it! I am so proud of myself for getting through these two days.  I am going to get up tomorrow and weigh myself, but then I am not going to weigh myself again for like a week.  My mother said that she can relate because when she was younger, something happened to her that she had to have her jaw wired shut for 9 MONTHS!!!!!!!! So she had to do days 1 and 2 everyday for THAT LONG! She said she was soooo excited to eat again. I guess compared to that this is nothing!!
