OMG! Have I ruined my pouch?
hi there. I am more than 6yrs out and I felt the same way. After the first year I didn't lose anything but since we dont' eat as much. I have maintained my weight lost. I gained some back when I went on atkins diet (which killed my stomach, so much pain) . But it really has been difficult to even lose a pound. But don't give up. We just have to work really hard. I am going to also try the 5Day Pouch test as someone else suggested. GOOD LUCK
Hey there! 6 years 4mos post op here - MAINTAINING goal over 3 years --- BUT at 2.5 years post I was too too thin. The only 2 changes I made were: 1) Drinking WITH my meals, and 2) snacking on wheat thins and drinking to get more in.
I went from size 2/4 to size 12/14 - in 8 months! Boy did I do a great job of GAINING WEIGHT!! haha!
BUT! I took a hard look and STOPPED creating "soup" with my meals by drinking with them. I went back to basics - protein 1st, hydrate, and 6x small meals per day - complex carbs, fruits/veggies no sugar- yada, yada.
Again, the BIGGEST culprit was drinking with my meals. Since then, lost the extra 20lbs & am maintaining within 5 pound +/- for 3+ years now.
That was just MY experience. Ultimately when I took I HARD LOOK, at what I was really doing, I was able to make the adjustments.
Take the hard look and you will too! I know you'll do great! 2 years out - down 150 (down 130 net) that's AWESOME!!! You'll make the changes, don't panic!
Take care!
