5 day plan

first day on plan and starving, it is 12:59pm I have had 2 protine shakes, 32oz of water and 1 can of soup. ready to have another can of soup.  How did you all do it, i keep saying one more day and i can have something solid.  oh why can we feel like we did when we first had our surgey.hahaha

I know, its hard, but you can do it!!!! I was successful 2x's, but started out trying to do it more times than that. Hang in there!

I am on my first day as well. You CAN do this!! Hang tough.

I'm also starting the 5dpt today. I'm holding up ok, I guess.  I've been especially productive at work today, though, trying to keep busy and distract myself from my empty tummy! I should have been drinking more plain water through the day (to get it in, and it stay fuller) but other than that, so far, so good.  I've had:  7:20 am - 4 oz OJ (lite 1/2 sugar/calories) and SF Koolaid 8:30 am - Carnation Instant Breakfast w/8 oz skim milk, plus 1/4 c dry milk 11:00 am - Tomato Soup, plus 1/4 c dry milk 2:30 pm - SF Italian Ice (4 oz) 4:30 pm - Smoothie (Dannon Light and Fit) 5:30 pm - Cream of Chicken Soup w/8 oz milk + 1/4 c dry milk (planned) Definitely a VERY different experience than those early post-op days when it took all day to finish a CIB or a can of soup!

water,water,water. I cant stress enough that you need to "water load" that means drink as much and as fast as you can, dont just sip it like when you first came out of surgery. I drink alot of warm stuff like teas, lemon water and my protein drinks I think that help, makes it seem more like food when its hot. Thats just me anyway. Ive had 2 protein shakes and 1 cup of bean soup today and alot of water and Im doing alot better than the last time I tried the 5dpt. I didnt do well with the canned soups so I made my own. I think the canned has to much sodium. Good luck everyone, Debra

Thats why your starving!!! you need to keep your stomach full. Try putting some sf flavoring in your water. Or drink warm teas they go down alot easier than plain water.Debra
