Eat more than you thought?

I am 10 months post op and have lost 180 pounds.  Weight loss obviously has slowed down for me, being this far out from surgery.  Has anyone else noticed how you can eat more (volume of food) than you thought?  I have noticed this from the time I got back on solid food even until now.  I have read that eating a cup to a cup anda half is not uncommon but it seems that a lot of the time I eat more than that.  I see some folks posting about eating 700 calorie diets and not being able to get in more than 65 grams of protein in a day.  I can and do get more than that.  I also excercise 4-5 times per week so maybe that has something to do with the difference.  I don't know. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else has noticed this.  Happy New Year 430/250/200

Absolutely.  I haven't been on these message boards for a very long time, but am back looking for plastic surgery advice and what life is like for others that have had their surgeries a while ago.  There are days when I will look at what I ate and think there is no way this is even possible, my stomach is going to explode at any minute!!  But then somedays I take a few bites of something and I'm totally done.  Even when in restaurants now I will think in my mind how much I should eat and try to stick with it in order to prevent over eating.  I think one of the keys is to really stop eating when you feel like you're not hungry anymore.  As obese people we always would eat until we were full, so I think that even though we have a very small stomach now, it's still a hard habbit to break.  I can usually eat about the amount of a lean cuisine now days and I'm pretty happy with that amount.  I'm not hungry and I'm not full anymore, but at 10 months I don't think I could eat that much.  Anywyas, hope that helps.  If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks jcurry and monika.  After I posted I continued my research and wound up on the 5 day pouch test website.  There I learned that we tend to eat "slider" foods when we start experimenting with other foods and those foods slide on thru the stoma more quickly there for not filling it up.  Thus you can eat more of these foods than you can others.
