Back to basics works!

While training for a marathon, I consciously ate more carbs for fuel on those long runs.  But, of course that triggered the carb monster and all the associated cravings.   When I cut my running mileage back to normal levels, I still found myself picking the carbs over the protein.  I was losing control big time, falling into the same bad habits and gaining weight. I knew I had to get back to basics, so I returned to my protein shakes for three days and feel so much better.  I lost 5 pounds and have tamed the cravings, though I know one Christmas cookie would unleash them again. I'm so thankful for the people on this board *****mind us all that we have the tool, we just have to remember how to use it! Even my kids have said it's time for the whole family to return to the way we ate when I first had surgery.  More fruits, vegetables, sugar-free jello and less carbs.  They can feel the difference.

Hey Cassie, You are so right!  I gained about 7 pounds from my lowest weight.  The last few days I've gone back to doing what I was doing that got me here...and I've lost 2 pounds of that already! The tool does work, Thank Goodness!!! C

I've had a 13 pound gain in the last year and a half... but I'm
working hard to lose it again!
