Did anyone have the surgery RNY and have a new problem?  Not eating, but with alchohol?  My husband says I am drinking too much these days since I can't eat all that much.  Now I think I have an ulcer again because the burning is killing me and I am afraid to tell to my Dr.

I have heard that this is a common problem.  I have lots of other problems but not that one.  If you are afraid to tell your doctor, then yo may miss out on getting the help yo need.  If he/she is a jerk, then they can't help you. Best wishes DD

You know, you need another opinion other than your husband's opinion in order to diagnose something like that. Do YOU think you have a transfer addiction to alcohol? The ulcer is a no brainer, you have to go to the doctor and if you trust your doctor anything he tells you, you should take it to heart. If you don't trust him, then find one you do trust. When my doctor tells me I have a problem, I believe her because I trust her with my life.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I have read several articles about TRANSFER ADDICTIONS after WLS. Since we can't use FOOD as our DRUG of choice we try to find something else. Booze, gambling, sex, drugs. I have read that evening working out can be an addiction for some after WLS. You've made the first step by coming here. Now you need to take that next step and make your doctors appointment and talk with him/her.  Just know you are not alone. Otheres have been there they just haven't talked about it. Good Luck,  Robin

My surgeon told me NO alcohol ever - which isn't a problem for me, fortunately.
