I hope this finds  you eating great and feeling good

I hit the gym late last night and worked on arms and cardio.  As I mentioned before due to carrying around an extra 200 lbs my knees are shot.  So I can't run fast on the treadmill.....I use incline to help with getting my heart rate high.  I did 3 miles at an incline 6.0 and speed of 3.2. 

I did my cardio after my arm workout...  Always do weight work first then cardio

Cable pull down           12/8/6              12/15/17.5
Bicep curl                       12/8/6             10/12/15
Hammer                        12/8/6              10/12/15

Hi Kathy and all you movers, Good day, I was able to go to my weight tracker and put in 212.  I really want to be back in onederland by Jan 26th but I think that might be a little unrealistic at this point.  It's sometimes hard to regear our brain to remember that it just doesn't fall off like it did durring the honeymoon. Props to you Kathy on your work out. I have a question for you:  You do weights b4 cardio.  Is there a reason?  I've been told to do my cardio b4 my weights reason is being warmed up.  Just wondering, always looking for new takes on things.  Have you ever tried the elliptical instead of the run for your knees?  Arthritis runs in my family and I just won't do the running or other high impact on my knees. Last nights walk was emotionally a bear! Just never got into the zone.  Was like walking uphill the whole way. BUT I am dedicated to walking every day for the rest of this week, Thurs Fri, Sat and Sun. I think I can, I think I can..... Hugs, Tmac

Hi Tammy, I know it's so hard, but try to not let a number on the scale get  you down.  If you don't hit onelander on 1/26.  Try to celebrate how much you have lost by that date!  Give yourself all the pats on the back you can!!!! I do a warm up before doing my weight training, but it's only for 5 mins on the treadmill, no incline and no faster than 2.5.  Then I do my weight training.... and then cardio When you lift weights, it rips the muscle and then builds back up.  That is how muscle is built.  If you run or do any kind of cardio it stretches the muscle.  So in order to have all the energy you need for a great workout you need to lift weights first. There are those that advocate if you want to build muscle you don't do cardio...  They say you get enough cardio if you do your sets with short breaks between reps.  Even my son says this is true.  Maybe, but I have not given up cardio yet. Back at cha,

I mean the replies to yesterdays post you put up.  I put one in and I saw a couple others but I didnt see any more on yesterdays post today.  This one seems to be working ok.

Yeah I know about the muscle thing, small tears builds it.  It will make for interesting conversation w my trainer when I go back the 1st of the year.

No beatings here.  Done beating anything except a punching bag!  LOL

Did the 2.5 tonight and all 5 of the Clydsdales were out in their paddock, they were so pretty with their winter coats on.

Yes, I finally moved this body of mine...it's been around 7 weeks...first 5 from 3 broken toes and then calcuim build up/infection in my shoulder that was very painful but now no more excuses.  Here is what I did yesterday, I was very limited on time: 65 flights of stairs! Going to workout today after work as well.  Going to go for a full hour of cardio. Trish
