Hey all, Well, I just had to share with you all my events with the piece of mango that I ate yesterday.  I was trying to eat fruit and stay away from the cakes, and pies that my sister had made, so I decided that I would eat some fruit.  I had bought a mango, so my youngest daughter and I cut it and I got a piece about the size of a orange wedge.  Well, it was so sweet and delicious and it went down really well.   I didn't want to eat anymore just in case.  So, I decided to take a nap about 30 minutes after that.   I was laying there on the sofa, and all of a sudden my pouch, intestines and lord knows what else, was sounding like a volcano erupting!! I had just enough time to get to the bathroom before the explosive diarrhea hit! It was awful!! I don't know if it was the fruit sugar or maybe my system just doesn't like mango.  Anyway, I won't be eating anymore!  If someone has experienced this or some other fruit disaster, please advise if there is any fruit that I can eat that won't do me like this.  Thanks in advance.

Cathy, Sorry that you experienced that.  I can eat pears and bananas and apples with no problems.  I haven't tried mango because I'm not that adventurous.

Yikes!!!!! Thanks for the warning, lol. I'm not really a fruit person other than bananas, apples and grapes, but it's good to know in case I ever get some weird craving for mangos: Be at home.

That happened to me the 3rd day after my hysterectomy. I ate a lot of a really sweet juicy watermelon. Only, I felt like I was going to throw-up and deathly afraid of doing so do to my huge, fresh belly incision. It was very frightnening. So, I only eat a small amount.

OMG! i too have had fruit issues. I can pretty much ONLY eat a bit or oranges, banana's (which are the best for me so far), a couple berries, a bit of pear or nectarine. It blows, because fruit is so healthy, but it has sooo much sugar. Apples did the same thing to me at WORK one time, so I haven't had those. not even juice. Occasionally, I can tolerate some dried, non sugar added fruit that I get from a local organic market, but that is play food, not nutrition. I prefer citrus fruits and banana's as a result. strawberries, in moderation, seem to be good too, but grapes are a no-no! Good Luck, and take care! -Misty

Cathy I found out several yeasr ago I am allergic to mangoes. They are in the same family as cashews, It  ried a mango and my lips and throat swelled up. I can eat any other fruits I want. My Dad grows the bes****ermelons. We garden organically and we had a volunteer cantaloupe come up and its was the best!

Me too me too! Costco sells these amazing, delicious dried mangos and they give me the runs like crazy. So if I limit to a piece or two per day, Im okay, but I had to figure that out the hard way!!!!
