good morning and another great day of protein for you.  Do you ever look at the  calorie count of what you're eating.  Just wondering.  Seams that to get that much protein in cheese done you would need to eat a few oz. figuring 110 cals or 7 grams of proten that would be 3 oz of cheese.  than salami you would need to eat about 3 oz to get that protein at 225 for the cals. so for lunch you ate 330 in cheese and 225 in salami and what ever the triscuits are.  just for lunch. According to sparkpeople 24 almonds is 163 calories for 6 grams of protein.  so to get 20 grams of protein from almonds That would be almost 600 cals worth of almonds. That seens like a lot of calories.  I know you dont look at calories and just the protein content.  I did the same thing when I was not out so far but now I feel like I have to balance the two of them to insure I am not over doing the calories as well.  I know that for 3 oz of chicken you eat a total of about 130 calories and get 23 grams of protein.  I am just wondering if that would be a better choice of snack instead of almonds, cheese or salami. Of course this is just my humble opinion so please dont take it any other way.  Your protein numbers are great.   Are you still trying to loose or are you maintaining.  How is that going for you.  if it is working for you than dont change a thing.  I was just wondering. OH i totally agree on the calories but when I asked my surgeon he said don't worry... Yesterday was a weird day being at the seminar I needed something to keep me awake and the nuts were in my bag... The triscuits are 120 so thats 655 for my dinner... My surgeon/ nut says from 1200-1600 and on days where I am really active maybe increase it more... Some days its not as much, and more movement.  I also have to watch my hypoglycemia as well cuz that hits me with a gusto...  Thanks for checking cuz earlier I was concerned and my surgeon said with what I am eating don't be, if it was more carb laden to be concerened.  And the weight is coming off slowly but steadily... I really do appreciate you asking, and I thank you for that... Now off to enjoy the day, gosh I hope yours goes really good... Sounds like fun, I am thinkin ya need to move closer, lol.. Enjoy Christmas Huggs Debbiie

Wow. My list was really short today.  Breakfast: Oat Bran cereal made w/ water, 1/3 cup dried cranberries and coffee Snack: 1 oz Mozzarella cheese stick and 1/6 size piece of SF Strawberry Angel food cake   Lunch: Hormel Compleats, Beef N Bean meal (390 calories!) Snack: 2 more pieces of angel food cake, a small piece of homemade onion soup bread and a 20 gram protein bar...I feel like I ate junk all day long but that angel food cake is like eating splenda flavored air...Nothing.  Dinner: McD Crispy (I swear I ordered grilled, stupid local town teenage gene pool! Two fast food places and neither one could do my order right...) Chicken Snack Wrap with Ranch dip on the side. Those crispy ones are 320 calories EACH. I ate one as soon as I got home but waited and ate the other one about 8 pm... Totals for the day:\ Calories: 1866 Fat: 51 Carbs: 260 Protein: 103

I know what you mean.  If you dont check the order before you leave there is always something not right with it.  I always order my food special so I know they are gonna do it wrong so it's a given I have to check it..lol.. Nice day for you even though I think the choices were a little "strange" for you.   I am gonna get some of that oatbran cereal and give it a try.  May try and pick some up today.   Hey you.. keep up the good work. See ya tomorrow Carla

You know the drill: B:  Dutch Chocolate shake, banana L: Chicken and vegetable soup, S: 2 mandarin oranges D:  chicken mango sausage  w/italian vegetables S:  8 oz Fage yoghurt w/mandarin oranges  (I LOVE this yoghurt--so much lower in sugars than the normal american stuff) I think I'm going to begin including more fats in my diet;  my skin is so dry.  Tomorrow I'm going to change my milk to 1% instead of nf, and then vinaigrette dressings with olive oil, and add half an avocado to my salads. I know I need to keep it to a dull roar, but I think at this point I can use the extra.  I work out 3X weekly, for an hour, using weights for 45 min, and the recumbent bike for 20 minutes., so the extra fat will be good for my energy and my skin. This sure helps me stay on target;  thanks for the thread!
