Need advice about iron deficiency after RNY

The only reason I recommend a slow build with the Tenders is cuz of the potential for constipation with a sudden blast that much iron. So, no harm done.

Just note that ferritin is a very slow build. Iron can turn in just a few days, but ferritin can take months to get up over 200. But hey, even at 20 pts per 6 months, up is better than NOT up, you know?

I went from 4 to 12 slowly, because I was watching labs. My ferritin was once nearly 800, so I had to watch it come down, then try to stop the descent, which was slow to happen, then rebuild when it dropped too low, but with labs only every 6 months, everything was in slow motion.

When our ferritin had GOTTEN so high, we were taking 265 mg of the original version of Tender Iron (another name) way back when), so then we had to work out the formula to get it just right again.

At one point, we were taking 4 Chromagen Forte (at 151mg each) and 4 Trinsicon (at 110mg each) and still anemic! Our insurance didn't cover them, and so we gradually replaced them with the original Tenders and the numbers slowly improved.

The CF works magic for some and for others, it's like a placebo. The Tender seems to work for everybody, at least on the ferritin, so many will take a "****tail" of Tender & something else, so you're building ferritin from the back end and iron, iron from the front end. Sorta.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
