Ok, I always advocate finding something you love to do for exercise and it won't be so painful...  Well, I guess I need to take up ice skating.  This is INSANE  We got more ice last night and they say more is on the way...... I did make it to the gym and I thought we were doing legs, but my son said nah, nah, nah, he did legs on Sunday when I was not there.  So we did core and he said he is taking tonight off and he would train me on legs if I want.  Only if the roads are dry Floor work Plank Crunches Bicycles Crunches with weights Crunches side to side Crunches side to side with weights We then went to the machine area and was going to do a tri-speed workout.  There was the hanging leg raises, then the side bends with weights  and the machine where you lay down and crunch up.  Wellllllllllll, I thought my core was pretty strong, NOT I laid down on the machine and tried to crunch up and it didn't move.  I tried again and I knew I was doing something wrong.  My son came over and he said ok, let's try it without weights.  He removed the weights and I still could not move the sucker.  I was so sure I was doing it wrong and he said no you are just that weak   I was so mad....  I had to lay on the floor and duplicate the move with free weights Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Ok, while working out is good it also reminds  you how far you have to go.  Don't let it get you down  Just see it as a challenge and get mad  I know know I need to work on core big time. So my friends Did You Move To Lose Today?  Come on and show me how it's done Stay Strong, Sexy and Sassy! Take care, Kathy

Hey Kathy, You are so impressive, I mean that.  Heading out in this nasty weather to work out, you are hard core, girl.  Speaking of ice skating, both of my daughters were competitive ice skaters from the time they were little.  I have spent hundreds, probably thousands, of hours at the ice rink.  So last year over winter break, I got up the nerve to go to the rink with my youngest daughter, AND GET ON THE ICE.  I was terrified of falling, but I knew it was something I had to experience just because I was that afraid of it.  I made my daughter promise to hold my hand the entire time, and she did keep me from falling several times.  However, she was impressed that I was able to skate as well as I did.  So maybe someday I'll actually learn to skate.  If I get over the fear of breaking my 52 year old bones. I haven't posted in several days, but I have been working out here at home.  I can already feel the muscles returning back to what they were.  I still prefer to do the WATP dvds, usually the 3,4, or 5 mile versions, and I am usually jogging to them instead of walking.  I am so lazy, that if I had to head out to the gym, especially this time of year, I would give myself a "get out of exercising" free pass.  If I am at home, I don't have any excuses. I am fortunate to have lost weight below my original goal, and now it is a matter of staying there.  So far, my weight has been pretty stable since April of this year.  I'm doing all this exercising now to burn off the holiday extra calories. Good luck to all the rest of you Moving to Lose. Debra M. 351/150/133 starting/goal/today

Hi Debra, Well anyone that has lost below goal and KEEPING it off has my admiration BIG TIME  It's so easy to fall off the wagon, so you keep doing what you are doing. I agree with you, I think since we have been heavy most of our lives and older if I may say (same age as you) we think if we fall it's going to cause serious issues.  But when we lose weight it's like hey, I can do this. What a special WOW moment to impress your kids. I hope to see you here often,  keep up the great work outs and being an inspiration for us all. Take care, kathy

I need a swift kick in the @#$...I worked out with a personal trainer 3xper week for the first year and a half...then the membership ended, the firestorm hit here in Cal., then I broke 3 toes and I have not really worked out for about  6 weeks!!!  Maybe once or twice a week max. So, ladies keep working out and inspiring me...I will get back there.  I even put my gym clothes on yesterday but then life just got in the way. Trish

It was Cardio day for me. 5 miles on the treadmill and 20 min. on the rowing machine.  That makes for a good hour. Sorry to hear about the feezing weather back there.  It was a chily 68 here in southern California.  I almost had to put on a sweatshirt, but I just worked through the pain (LOL). Keep on movin! Hi Kathy, Tracy, et all, Today is my "off" day.  Like you Kathy, we got 5 in of snow on top of an inch of slush/ice.  So when I got home from work it was my husband and I on the tag team to get the driveway done.  (btw, it's 100ft to the street). That took 2 hrs of HARD! work. (plus the 3 flights of stairs at work 2x) So, had some dinner, made an appitizer for the work party tomorrow and now it's time to get ready for bed.  I am so proud of you all  that really have a good system going with your dvds/treadmills and personal trainers.  I will be with you soon.   As I have said in previous days, I haven't worked out on a regular basis for over a year, so walking every day but 4 since November 19th out in the elements has been quite a commitment for me. So I am going to get back on the horse tomorrowand keep it up till after the holidays.  Maybe throw in some crunches and streching in the am. I intend to start back at the health club in January. (Kathy, I can't find my scale) Here's to sore bodies! Tmac

I have not posted every day what I have done this week. Seeing how every day is almost the same for me. Expect depending on the weather outside. Last two days I walked 8 miles when it was nice out and spent the other two hours at the gym working out. Today I had to trade walking for 10 miles on my in door bike and . I also spent two hours at the gym. I wish every one the best of luck. And hope every one has a wonderful day at the gym or working out at home. Taichi
