Accountability.. what did you eat Monday.

Well the new week is here and it's Monday.  I thought I was gonna freeze to death this morning.. I actually had on two jackets, gloves and a blanket wrapped around me on the way to work and I was still chattering...  Took way to long for my heater to kick in..lol.. So today was our Christmas party and our boss takes us to this really nice place and I eat like a pig.. at least I thought I did til I watch the rest of my peer****ting the buffet line.   lol...  I swear this one girl was eating crab legs with her butter.  she actually had about two sticks of butter with her crabs.. My arteries were hardening as I watched her.. hehehehehe... I love the lamb here so I had a great time.  We go here every year for our party and it overlooks the ocean.  It's a beautiful view and a nice day for all of us to get away from the office for the day. Ok.. so back to my day..

I know I am going to have trouble with the cold in Wisconsin over Christmas break.  I have an electric throw blanket that I bring with me when I travel because I have noticed people keep their houses too cold for my skinny butt and I am in Tennessee.  Everytime I complain that it's awfully chilly here I think of how cold it was growing up in Wisconsin!  Here's my day....and you thought YESTERDAY looked funky...just keep that body guessing!

Yep, that's it.  At least I am still on that protein like white on rice, but wow...bummer low day for calories.  Though, it might confuse my body into a loss this week as I had high calories yesterday.  It's 1am here and I haven't stopped going all day and I am not even tired yet...that's crazy.  Adreniline! Wow you can say that again.  You can borrow calories from yesterday to make up for today.  That is a very low day and I bet your body is yelling whats going on.  I'm in So Cal so I cant even image how cold it is out there.. I know I have 3 jackets on and ughs trying to stay warm.  I know the feeling about going to ppl's houses and it's just to cold.  Having no fat on our bodies requires some getting use to. Have a good one and lets see what that ship pulls in with tomorrow... Carla

do you actually weigh out your meals? Did you go to a restaurant with a scale or is that a guesstimate? I'm trying to figure out how to estimate and I'm having a tough time. ANDI

Andi, I usually don't 'weigh' food.  I often measure though.  1 cup of Special K protein plus cereal is pretty simple as is the 1/2 c. of milk with it.  Bars and shakes (which I eat and drink a lot of these days) don't require measuring or weighing and that's probably why I choose them.  Lunch meat and cheese usually is indicated on the back of the package.  But, my surgeon's office gave me a guessing guide to help with other items.  For instance: 6 dice = about 1 oz. in cheese cubes 3oz. of meat, like chicken = the palm of your hand minus fingers or a deck of cards small apple = your fist That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I have a sheet.  I bet others do too and I am sure they can add to the list.  As far as resuraunts are concerned, I try to make sure I get at least a deck of cards sized piece of meat and the other stuff (if good choices) isn't as important as counting your protein.  If you go somewhere often though, their individual websites are pretty detailed these days. I do that same.  some things I will measure out like cups of stuff but for the most part I know what it looks like now and can just put a guesstimate in.  At this part of my journey a few calories either way dont seem to make that much of a difference since my numbers are too low most days. Carla

Good MORNIN' !!! Oh Carla I hear ya on the cold... I am finding that Joe Namath was right, my hose help keep my feetsies warm... but the rest of me, I could go looking like a bank robber to keep my nose and face warm. haha.. Hubby was so sweet last night he gave me one of my Christmas presents early, he said I need this more now than later... SOCKS !!! HOT SOCKS !!! omg, pulled them baby's on last night and my feet felt the warmth right away... They kept my tootsies warm all night long... So weird, first time in my life I have owned SOCKS, lol... and I would take socks over jewelry right now...lol Ok on with food for yesterday... It's amazing some days I think I just am not getting in my protein, like I change up what I might eat, and lo and behold I am fine, because I come here and make sure.  I thank you for this... B= 2 eggs/ 2 cheese (penelope is not liking eggs so its switch time) 28g protein L= 4oz of Salami, 3 oz of provolone cheese mmmmm  46g protein D= 5 oz Halibut  35g protein       1/2 c Cottage Cheese w/ pico de gallo 14g protein S= Protein bar 15g protein S= Handful of almonds 10g protein H2O 134 oz's Protein  148 Hope y'all have a great day.. YOu do such a great job with getting that protein in each day. you have inspired me to drink an extra shake everyday just to get mine back up.  I used to keep it around 130 but recently it has dropped below 100.  Thats not good for me.. I thank you for reminding me how important the protein is in our diets. You had an excellent day yesterday.  Lots of great choices full of portein.  Seems like smooth sailing for you. Glad to hear the medicine is starting to help.  I know you are not feeling great but hopefully you will be on the road to feeling great real soon.   Yes.. your protein is much better today.  still low on calories and such but I know you will get there... Be well Carla
