Hello all.  Hope your weekend is going well.  It was grandma day but way to wet and cold to ride the horses.  We spent the day watching Christmas movies, baking and decorating Xmas cookies and I prepared a "Taco bar" for a whole mess of ppl that showed up for the day.  When we got home we went and sat out in the driveway with our fire pit to wish ppl Merry Christmas.  All was going well until it started raining and we rain in the house. So here was my day.

Sounds like a GREAT Grandma Day to me!  Even the rain will be part of the fun when you talk about it in later years. My day today was kind of inside-out--I'd worked until 1130 last night then was up and attm again at 0645 to work again. Didn't eat breakfast until at work, when I had a toasted whole wheat bagel and scraped off most of the cream cheese they'd slathered all over it.  (Yuck.)  Unfortunately, the bagel gave me the "stuck" feeling I was afraid it would. {50 g carbs, 3 g protein) Worked until 1100, then to the gym where I worked out for an hour doing an overall toneup whi*****luded 40 minutes on various weight machines and then 20 minutes on the recumbent bike. Finally home, had some breakfast/lunch of chicken noodle soup (left the noodles in the bowl) {16 g protein, 250 cal) Took a nap Dinner was homemade Turkey Chili, but made the mistake of toasting some whole grain bread and eating that first, so I didn't have the room to eat the chili. {20 g protein, 40 g carbs} Another nap! Ate some more Turkey Chili (homemade with turkey and beans, added salsa)  {25 g protein} Now up for the evening until it's nap time again! I'll probably have a protein bar snack and my banana later.  I also just  realized I'd zipped out of the house this mornin without my vitamins--eek! Have a great Christmas!

That should get your protein up there.  sounds like a very busy day and that nap was well deserved. Keep up the good work. Carla

This weekend has just been too much. What started out to be a good day of shopping and evening of decorating the tree and baking has been brought completely to it's knees with the news that my grandmother in Montana died early Saturday morning. No complaints, she lived to be 89 years old and was lucid up to the day she died but all those memories, good and bad are coming back..:

Breakfast: Malto Meal with soy milk and banana and coffee

Second Breakfast: refred bean and cheese burrito with a fried egg. I asked for two but hardly found any in the filling so I assume they only gave me one.

Lunch: Left over pork loin and cheese in a tortilla...Whole wheat

Dinner: Steak. A large portion of it and green peas (frozen)

Throughout the day I had two portions of SF Cookies(4 vanilla wafers are 1 serving). Hazards of baking. I'm lucking I remembered eating anything at all after that phone call. I did alot of running around and standing in the kitchen so maybe that makes up for the number of calories. At least the house is clean and baking is started. Totals:  Calories: 2207 Fat: 107 Carbs: 197 Protein: 121

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I am so sorry to hear bout your grandmother.  She did live a full life and memories will remain forever, but it doesnt lessen the pain one feels at a time like this.  My heart and prayers are with you. Take care of yourself and your family.  That is what is most important right now. Carla

The lazy didn't last for long though!  We have to have everything turned in by Friday and that is the day that we are leaving for the frozen tundra of Wisconsin for the Christmas season.  Incidently, I get ordained this weekend.  I am going to post about it in a second.
