Frustrated with skin

Seriously, I am a tad bit irritated that if it wasn't for all this excess skin, I'd be at or below my goal.  I know I got a half a pound each in my arms, and at least 3 in my pannis and abdomin.  Ugh....I can hid it well in clothes with the use of spanx...that God for them....but I so badly want to say that I am not overweight anymore, not even by one pound! Just venting as for some reason the scale went up today.  I posted on the accountability thread yesterday that the last few days have been under 1000 cals and while I got my protein in, I knew I needed more calories to consistantly lose.  Ugh.

I hate my hanging skin too. I don't know that it weighs that much and I don't care to lose any more pounds, but it just hangs there and looks awful. Gravity has been especially cruel to me. The last time I was at this weight I was a teenager, and things were different then. I just don't think I could lay down the money for PS, and even if I could, it looks like it would hurt.

Yeah, sometimes the more you know or see, the least likely you'll be able to go through with it.  Watching the Big Medicine show on TLC has really freak out about going to have plastic surgery.  who knows, maybe one day

Hi ladies,

I am not yet at goal and won't do the tummy tuck till I loose 53 more lbs.  BUT, I did have a breast reduction and lift at the 100 lb mark and I have to say that it was the 2nd best thing I did. (RNY #1).

My surgeon took off a total of 5 lbs between the 2 and the pain was minimal, I too was afraid of the pain but it was unfounded.  Used pain meds the first 3 nights, that was it. (this was covered by Ins for me)  It got me motivated for excersise and man, its alot easier without those 2 swinging aroundbouncing like that is about what it felt like, so I am doing this in 2 phases. ( I know if your self pay this is a tough way to do it because of the $)

When I was in, the Dr. did take a look at my "pouch" and she said that it would be be about 15lbs in extra skin, just to give you an idea.  It's not a money thing, but a goal and best result thing.  My dr. agrees that the closer to goal I am the better the result will be.  I know 3 other friends/family that have had it done and they all agree.  4 week recovery and yes its not the most pleasant procedure but all 3 of the people I have talked to said it was managable. Hope this helps! Tmac

I had to come to the point where I realized that while I will never have a models body, I am a lot better off at  under 200 lbs then I was at almost 500 lbs...I think eventually you will have to make peace with yoruself and realize it's not about the number on the scale.  With that said, I have about 20-25 lbs of skin hanging off my body (not my opinion but the opinion of 2 plastic surgeons)......you know what, it does bother me ...not because of the number on the scale, but because my back constantly hurts, I get rashes, and it makes me look lumpy under my cloths......I HATE compression garments and refuse to wear them.  So I'm stuck with it until plastics....... BTW under 1000 calories a day is not enough for you....or anyone.  Try adding a high quality protein shake at the least.....it will help you maintain muscle mass. Scott
