Hello Everyone Well I did it!!!  I really got my butt out of the house and met my son at the gym.  It was core night and we did the following: Floor work Plank Crunches Bicycles Crunches with weights Crunches side to side Crunches side to side with weights Hanging leg raises - When I lifted my legs my son stood there and pushed them back down, now not only does this make you madBut gives you resistance and you "can" really feel this in the abs area. Hanging leg raises with a medicine ball between  your legs - this one took me forever to get it started.  Try putting a ball between the legs when you are hanging there   But once you do get it, boy you can feel it. Floor work I guess you could call these "V"'s.  You lean back as far as you can without falling and then pop back up Same as above with weights Plan****il failure Whew, I gave the kid permission to kill me and he took full advantage of it So my friends, Did You Move To Lose and or Maintain Today?  Come on in and be accountable and share and  inspire. Stay Strong, Sexy and Sassy Take care, Kathy

I did move today. Not as much as I should , but I ran on the tred mill for 15 min. and the ski thingy for 5 min. I plan on going for a walk later before work. It's just so boring. My car battery died on Mon. I had planned on going to the Y but oh well! I at least did do something. Brenda

Hey Brenda, This post isn't about how much and or where you are or comparing...  It's about helping each other.   You will not find a bigger fan of working out than me, but I too fell off the wagon and with everyones help we will do it.... May I suggest  you try lots of different things.  Like swimming, biking, inline skating, dancing, tennis.  Try and find something you love to do and then it won't be so boring and you will have a better chance at sticking with it.  Also, try and find friends to do it with you.  It's fun and when you do it with friends you can hold each other accountable. Thanks for posting and see you tommorrow Take care, Kathy

Kathy~

This is great!  I know that this is the grad board but I love that your talking about exercise like this!  We have started a 12-week plan at work and whomever wins gets $500 bucks!  Can you believe that?  Now, I can't do it because I'll likely (hope) to have my WLS before it's over but I'm going to the meetings and I'm with my friends with exercising.  :0)

One of my friends mentioned these exercise tapes called "Walk Off the Pounds" with Leslie Sansone (here's the website http://www.lesliesansone.com/store/product91.html) and it's great for people like us who live in the colder states.  She has 1-mile, 2-mile, 3-mile, and 5-mile tapes.  I have tired the 2-mile and the 3-mile and I loved them both.  Let me tell you...I could feel more muscle use from the tape then just walking outside because we do leg raises, kickbacks, and knee lefts.  She also includes weights for arms exercises so I could feel my core muscles working to keep my balance.   I did the 3-mile tape yesterday which took 47 minutes and then I did extra sit-ups. Today, I lifted weights for 25 minutes and walked up 8 flights of stairs.   I feel great! Keep up the great work!!! Selena

Hi gang, Like I posted to the other one last night, I did my 2 miles in 30mins.  This time of year it's enough for me to even set aside 30 minutes so I am giving myself a .  (I am green w/envy of you gym go'ers).  The dogs have to get out anyway so it's "family" time!  Ice is covering the snow right now so they dont get a good run in like I do with them on a normal day so out comes the leashes.  (I live on 2 acres, kinda rual where I am) I have got to imagine that walking with all the extra gear I have to wear and the cold should boost it up a bit.  I'll tell you, I certainly was puffin' after last night. I'll have to post a pix of me and the pooches in our gear! Let's keep our booties moving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the frozen tundra, Tmac
