Hello Everyone, Well, when you are an emotional eater it goes down without you even knowing it.  And if you exercise you can get away with a lot....but  If you quit then the old waist band doesn't lie. I have had some stuff going on and been hitting the carb bad boys pretty hard.  Worst of all, I stopped going to the gym.  I have to tell you, the impact not going to the gym was painful.  Not only on the body but mentally.  I knew working out helped with stress and feeling good and energy but OMG  You feel so low when you don't move to lose and or maintain. So, that being said I am getting off my butt and going back to the gym today.  I am going to be working out with my son and getting back on track.  Myself and Charlie are going on a cruise at the end of January with fellow OH'ers and that is my goal.  To get back in shape and lose the extra weight I have put on. Do you want to join me?  Come on, we can do it together!!  This time of the year is the hardest and we can help each other get through it.  I will be posting Did You Move To Lose Today in the AM and PM.  Help me and in turn hopefully I can help you. Love you all!!! Take care, Kathy Heaviest  330 Lowest    114 Goal         120 Today       138

Hey Kathy!!!!! I have kinda slacked off on working out, I am down to about 2 or 3 days a week and was going 5 or more.  My workouts have not been as hard and I can sure tel it.  My weight loss has slowed, and my eating has picked up.  I am hovering at 156-158 and I want to get to 140 by the first of theyear.  I am so not thinking that iwll happen, but it really won;t if I do not get my butt in gear.  I have my one year post op visit the 17th so I have to get my booty in high gear.  No cheating for me.  I know better and I have to start living what I preach. Good Luck, if anyone can do it you can.

Since November 19th I have gotten up to move it every day but 3.  You aren't kidding that the waistband doesn't lie  I went to put on a pair of flannel jeans that I wore last winter and couldn't get them zipped So, since that day I said enough is enough.  Every day its the stairs and 30 minute walks with the dogs. I have now had to extend my walks, up to 2 miles in 30 minutes. The good thing about doing this without a treadmill is I still have to get back home, there is no pushing the off switch! The bad thing, I live in WI and man its cold out there lately! I'm in! Tonight might be the health club though, it's 19 degrees here today! TMac

Kathy, Just a little bonus, I am a big reward freak.  One of my monkeys on my back was using food for a reward. So, I keep a "old school" day at a time calander in my purse for appointments and every day I walk I give myself a "gold star" sticker.  I also have a paper on the fridge 1-53 for every lb. I want to loose, those don't come along as fast, but a star for that too. LOL if you must, cause I have to chuckle even writing it.  Whatever it takes to break that "food for reward" habit. I'll talk to y'all later.  P.S. I'm about an hour from ChiTown. Tmac

I am so for what ever works.  The thought of going on a cruise at the end of January is a good motivator for me.  But as you said, it's the getting started again that seems to be so hard. Thanks so much for the suggestions and the inspiration!!! Take care, Kathy

It's funny that you posted this today, as I had decided to get back on track with my exercise!  Up until May of this year, I had been diligent about working out four days a week.  You know, there's always an excuse.  My mom was in the hospital for a good portion of April, May, June, and July.  Yes, then I had good reason to not be taking the time for my workouts.  Yet, since July, she's been really healthy again (for her), and still I didn't go back to my routine.  I made a couple of feeble attempts, but not really.  I have been fortunate that I have not regained as a result of my slack-i-tudeness, but I am worried about the holiday season approaching.  I am pretty disciplined in my eating under normal cir****tances, but I allow myself more carbs around Christmas. So, today, I had already done my three mile workout before I got online to read this.  I am committing myself to my four day a week schedule.  I am one of those *****ally dislikes working out, and don't miss it when I don't do it.  However, I feel I need to get back to doing this, even if it is just for the mental feeling that I am doing one more good thing for my body.  And, I've bought a lot of clothes in the last couple of months that I don't want to be too big for. Good luck to everyone else who decides to recommit to the exercise. Debra M.

Hi Debra, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome....we will get back on track.  That was my fear, while I have put on some pounds I didn't want to face the holidays and end up where I don't want to go.... And I was the same way. It was always some life drama that made me choose exercise as the last thing on my to do list and it should have been the first.  I was a nut about working out and LOVED it.  Once you get away it's so hard to get back on track.. I will be posting this often and hope you will check in and keep me going !!!! Take care, Kathy
