Thanks for all the responses.  You know, I don't think they have explored fybromyalgia....and I've wondered whether they're testing everything with my blood that they really should. My doctor goes to my church and I see him all the time.  Whenever I tell him my symptoms  he points out that I'm an overworked, overstressed mom of 4...dismisses my pain as "normal".  I like him, but I need to be taken seriously!!  Again, thank you! Hi Kate,

i've been reading some of your posts and can relate to the weight gain issue. I don't have chronic pain now but have in the past when i have struggled with depression. All the thoughts I had were similar to what others have sais  ie: vitamin D( I take 5 times the rda on the advice of my doctor), fibromyalgia or some kind of pathogen.  I hope you find releif.

Thanks DD for your input.   It looks like you and I both could use a big box of motivation for Christmas!!  I'm so frustrated with myself, but apparently not enough to keep myself on track for more than a day or two.  I am going to get back into the doctor regarding the pain...didn't sleep well the past two night due to pain.  Am thinking of putting on the snowshoes and walking across the field though..the snow is so pretty, and its not horribly cold for once!!  (Although it is freezing rain!). Good Luck to you!! Kate

Kate, I've got alot of joint pain and it's come on most recently since I've gotten tight again with chocolate/sugar.  I remember these pains (not)fondly from when I was diabetic pre-surg.   The doc told me it very well can be related to my increase in carbs; having something to do with lactic acids building up in my joints.   I'm back to keeping an eye on my A1C and doing more blood checks per day.   Seeing higher numbers helps me stay away from the sweets...(I don't dump, ever)....I don't want to go back to needles everyday.

Thank you for sharing this, as I have often though there may be a connection.  I have not been sure as to whether it was connected to sugar or caffeine, as I have too much of both on a regular basis.  I am going to have to "Experiment" to see if this helps....perhaps some incentive to eat sugarfree again...I dont dump either. I am not diabetic, but it runs in my family...a huge motivating factor to get the weight off.  Now to keep it off......

Thanks for the heads up on the caffeine.  Now that I think about it I had gone back to decaf and within the last two weeks returned to high test and the joint pain has increased.   Considering that coupled with the chocolate I've been inhaling since Halloween, it all could be related.   Time to put the foot down I think.   Good Luck to You too!
