Wanted to say howdy
Celebrated my One year yesterday, and wanted to jump over here and say hi... I am so amazed at how wonderful my life has become since having my surgery.
For those of you that were/are diabetic, my A1C day of surgery was 11.9. My A1C is now 5.5. I am offically NOT a diabetic, never having to check that darn box again, WOO HOO. My cholesteral has gone from 489 to 146, I no longer have IBS, GERD nor high blood pressure. How much more wonderful can life be. It truly is amazing.
If it hadn't been for my wonderful surgeon and his crew and them teaching us about the total committment and lifestyle changes needed, I might not be as successful as I am. For that I am truly greatful. The wonderful support I have received as well. Attending support groups is such a vital part I feel of success. So much so that I have started my own support groups in my area, and that helps as well. Sure helps keep me accountable.
Second my hubby has been the most supportive, loving, person
to me. He attends support groups with me to learn as well. He
is the BESTEST !!!
My goal in this exciting adventure at first was always a pair of zipped up jeans and a neck, got that at about 3 months, but them darn zippers sure make pee'in difficult, can't just pull
them britches off. haha. never to have to wear a seatbelt extender, and now its to be able to sit in a chair with my
foot on the seat as well. My goals that I made I hoped were always been obtainable. I never had nor will have a goal weight. If I were not to reach that, would I think of myself as
a failure? So instead my ultimate goal was to be healthy and that I am.
So I truly am a success in mind.
