Since we are in the holiday season I am sharing this again with anyone interested in getting on track again when they weaken (which will be me too I am sure....):

5 DAY JUMPSTART PROGRAM It comes from Bariatric support centers. In a nutshell it is:

  • Eat 3 to 5 meals per day

  • Do not skip meals

  • Eat protein and vegetables only

  • Do not drink during meals ( 30 minutes before and 30 after)

  • Absolutely no bread , pasta grains or starchy vegetables

  • Eat slowly until you feel comfortably satisfied

·        Eat a small controlled protein snack between meals Eliminate the following from your diet totally: Sugar in any form milk and yogurt fruit and fruit juice flour products (bread, pasta, crackers) grains cereals beans (such as chili and refried) and legumes starchy or high sugar-containing vegetables (potatoes, yams, corn, peas, parsnips, beets) nuts and seeds ketchup, barbeque sauce, balsamic vinegar Eat liberally: tuna , salmon chicken breast, turkey lobster, shrimp, crab beef, pork, ham, veal, bacon all veggies that are not starchy Eat 3 to 4 ounces daily: cheddar, cream cheese , cottage cheese, gouda, swiss, parmesan, gruyere, monterey jack, Roquefort, blue cheese bouillon egg or egg substitute Eat only amounts that your surgeon says are acceptable for the point you are at

Good reminders!  I decided to get a grip on my looooong stall and basically started getting back to basics on Sunday with my own plan very similar to above.  This morning (Wed) I'm down 7.5 pounds.  Granted, I'm sure a lot is water weight, but still...I'm motivated to stay the course through the holidays. Cheers, Holly
