Friday was a mess. Youknow what they say about guests who overstay their welcome? A three year old who doesn't listen and a parent who doesn't pay attention? They all stink... My totals:  Breakfast: Malto meal, banana and coffee 3 eggs, cheese and a smidgen (I figure 1/4 cup) of hashed browns Turkey (I wouldn't say a whole cup), mashed potatoes and gravy (I figure about a 1/4 cup of both) green bean casserole and some sweet potatoes (a half a small one, baked)  I had a piece of my sf pear pie that I made myself..>It was GOOD. But I sure didn't get enough protein today. Too many carbs. Back on track tomorrow, I promise.  Totals: Calories: 1644 Fat: 73 Carbs 163 Protein: 86

i have a question? do you work out on a regular basis ?   just wondering because you have not gained anything that i can see...i am only asking because i am so afraid of gaining weight although i get about 1200-1400 calories a day almost a year out...

Not the Same Dawn
on 11/25/07 11:19 am - BEE EFF EEE, CA

I weigh myself every morning before I get dressed. I guess I approach my day according to that weight subconsciously..But. I get up at 4 am and I'm washing laundry; cleaning the house; scrubbing floors; vacuuming carpets...Then I'm not in bed until 9 pm at night, mostly doing the same things. I don't work out unless you count housework. I walk some at work (between buildings a couple times a day) and stay busy at work but I don't work out yet. I do some walking at home some nights rounding up the animals. I'm going to start jogging in January to train for a trek up Mt Whitney with a friend in May. But I'm not started yet.  Generally I have a hard time sitting at the computer or watching a movie on television. I'm nearly always moving, something that bugs hubby somewhat. I eat just a bit all day long. I guess some would call it grazing but I eat a meal at 5-6 am, then I eat a small snack at 8 am. Then at 10 am to 10:30, I eat lunch. I eat a snack at noon and another snack somewhere between 2 and 3. Then I eat dinner at 5-6 pm. A snack before bed and I'm done. I have some days where I top out at 1000 calories and some days go close to 2000 calories depending on what I've been doing or how I'm feeling that day. Today I was close to 2000 calories but I did my Christmas decorations; moved furniture and we did some home improvements (built a closet, I held up shelves and pieces of drywall)  I always drink a bunch of water before I eat to be sure I'm really hungry and it's not just thirst. No liquid during meals and none after a meal or a snack for at least a half hour, usually longer. I don't limit caffiene at all. I'm not recommending that you do what I do. I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm trying to find where I can maintain this weight. I expect just doing what I'm doing will wor****il the tool settles down and I experience that legendary "bounce" grads talk about. I'm just 16 months out so it should happen some time between now and another 8 months, I figure.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Decorated inside our house today for the holidays with help from my DH and grandson. First time we ever got everything done this early. Last night I wrote out all my xmas cards and got them ready to mail. Won't mail them for a while though. Next is to finish shopping. I am mostly getting visa gift cards to give out except for my grandson and husband for who I will be shopping. December will be a busy month for me, several doctor visits, preop class for my surgery and getting ready for the holidays.

Had a weird episode tonight, it was the second time it has happened to me. A while after dinner while watching tv, all of sudden I got extremly hot and start to sweat all over, had to take off my sweater and get something cold to have, also felt a little woozy when I got up. It did pass eventually and I ended up eating several things in what felt like a frenzy. Do you think it could of been low blood sugar? I will have to pay closer attention to what could have triggered it the next time.

Here is the total damages done

soy protien powder, 1 serving 60 0 0 14

Yikes thats not good.  I have done that as well.  I have always considered that dumping for me.  I know when I eat something like sugar or with too much fat that will happen to me.  I have never had a sugar problem but it seems like eating something helped you.  I am not real sure.  Have you spoke to your doc about it.   Sounds like a good day with food.. low on protein I see but the rest looked good.  I am still working on the outside of my house.  tomorrow grandma is coming over to decorate the tree so I will work on the inside some but still have more work outside to do.   Take it easy.  Check with your doc on that and I will see you tomorrow.
