How about having a piece of fruit w/ some protein instead?  Banana w/ peanut butter?  Apple w/ peanut butter or low-fat cheese?  A couple pieces of string cheese?  Although the calories may be about the same as the pretzels, the combination of lower carbs and higher protein would be a better choice.   Also, think about how the daily pretzel habit could affect your weight over a year: 160 calories per day 1 bag per day that's 58400 calories per year which, when dividied by 3500 calories to gain/lose a pound equals 16.68 pounds Is having those pretzels every day worth weighing almost 17 pounds more?   Last suggestion, from a fellow pretzel lover, is to eat a smaller portion.  I buy Snyder's of Hanover Snaps in a giant tub from BJ's.  I measure out a half-serving and take them to work with me.  That's 60 calories.  Trick is leaving the tub alone when I'm at home -  Good luck! Was buying them at the store and taking a measured portion to work with my lunch.  Since I can't control my urge right now and have had a weight gain, I think my best bet is to leave them alone "TOTALLY" for right now. I'm still learning about what I can and cannot eat and this is one of my "CANNOT'S."

I love the pretzels too.  I shifted to almonds and 1/2 of a bananna or apple.  The nuts help me with the crunch factor. Check out bariatriceating.com for other good snacks, beef jerky etc. KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT!

How about a 1/4 cup serving of roasted salted green peas? those are crunchy but I think they're the same calories as what you are getting with the pretzels, just more protein... Nothing wrong with the pretzels actually but if you eat them every day and can't make "room" in your diet for the added calories and no protein, then it's a problem.

Roasted green peas I found accidently at the 99 cent store over by the dried fruit and nuts but I've seen them over at Trader Joes so I'm pretty sure the health food stores would have them. I'm going to try finding a recipe for them too. Another good reason to grow my own veggies, I guess.

Have you tried soy crisps? They come in flavors like bbque and even sweet like carmel apple or something . They sell them in Wawa here and most supermarkets. They are protein snacks. Good luck  xoxoxo
