Hi everyone, I just started coming back to OH after a couple of years and a 40lb weight gain. I am 5 years out and have done horrible with my eating. Last week I did the 5 dpt and did pretty well I lost 7 lbs. Now I am trying to stay on track. It has been so long that I have really watched what I have ate that I cant even get this all together. I am looking to have someone rate what I ate so far today and tell me if I did anything wrong. Please I need to get this weight gone. My body feels terrible. Saturday Breakfast- 1 Scrambled egg with 1 slice american chees 2 turkey sausage patties Lunch - 2 half dollar size crab cakes and half of a half  chicken waldorf salad from California pizza kitchen Snack- protein shake Dinner- other half of chicken waldorf salad Sunday Breakfast - same as saturday Lunch- 4 nachos minus the chips ate the toppings only               half of one chili rellenos with beef   2 tbs refried beans Dinner- 1 1/2 chili rellenos from lunch  snack - small piece of cheese Monday Breakfast- 1scrambled egg w 1 slice american cheese   3 slices turkey bacon snack- 1 protein shake Lunch - 1 4oz chicken breast 1 slice swiss cheese and almost 64 ozs water Am i doing anything wrong? Please tell me.. I really need help to stay on track and make wise food choices. It had been so long since surgery. My pouch does feel somewhat tighter since friday and the last day of the 5 day pouch test. I also notice I am not able to eat as much as I was or maybe I am just being cautious. Thank you for any input, it is greatly appreciated Wanda

Wanda, I think your menu looks pretty good.  I did the 5DPT also and did well the next week.  For some reason the past 2 days I've just really done bad.  Today I'm frustrated with myself.....it's like the food monster is invading me today, not sure why.  This is going to be a tough week for me....I need to really watch myself. Just remember to focus on protein and make good choices 90% of the time.  Congrats on the 5DPT and -7!

Cajungirl, Thank you for your reply. It has been really hard for me not to eat. I keep telling myself I have the tool, but the head hunger keeps trying to take over. I can beat it, I hope Thanks again wanda

It doesn't look too bad. Just be sure to eat enough and get in enough protein. I shoot for more than 64oz of water when possible. Congrats on doing the 5dpt!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Wanda I too am 5 years out ( Dec 6th) and have managed to gain about 35 pounds.  I am on day one of the 5 day pouch test to try and get my grazing and carb craving stopped. I remember the first couple of years when the weight came right off - almost without trying (I think it was just that I couldn't eat alot , so of course it came off) and then I started snacking more and not caring about what I was eating.. I think I got comfortable with my weight loss and didn't think I had to "diet" anymore.. I never did get anywhere's near goal (lost about 150 pounds, but still had about 75 to go) and thankfully I was able to stop the gain,, but man!!!  Just trying to get the losing starting again has been nigh on impossible!!  Can't seem to stop myself from eating the carbs, mostly at night. So... I am desperately trying to get de-carbed with this 5 day plan.. really praying I can get through it.  Just wanted you to know you are not alone... sometimes it feels like the WLS world is made up of mostly successful losers who are living an abundant and grateful life... hard to not feel envious.  Kathy

I think you may want to add an additional shake every day.  Remember we can only absorb so much protein at a meal.  Protein keeps us fuller too. How about some fruit and veges here and there? Remember to eat enough calories, so as to not go into starvation mode.  But, basically looks like you are making some good choices. I am proud of you for getting back on track! blessings, Tami
