I hate the weight gain

I knew from the start that there would be a % of weight gain.  But I hate it! From day one I worked so hard....and have only bounced up about 13-14 or so pounds from my lowest...but its scary. When I went to my 2 yr appointment, the nut made a big deal of the weight gain.  So that upset me. I work out at kung fu 3 times a week, I just don't eat alot.  Always watch my foods, and keep my protein up to at least 2 extra shakes a day.  I really try to make good food choices, and haven't eaten sugar since surgery.  I think I am doing the right things.  My clothes size hasn't changed. Still a size 4 and maybe in the jr department a 5 or 7. So I know that is good.  I am really   pretty toned and don't have lots of fat at all. So I know I am paranoid about weight gain and just don't want to go back to m y old 210-212 pound self. I said something at my support group the other day and someone said ' so you think you're special and you wouldn't have a weight gain?".  Ok.....so I really thought I would not have a weight gain and be at the point of 125-127 lbs that I cannot lose a pound unless I am sick and just not eating anything. Anyway, thanks for letting me whine and vent. I will try the pouch thing for 5 days, but I don't think that's a real problem for me.  I don't eat too much  and haven't strayed far from the original guidelines. think my pouch is pretty tight. Well...I'm not going to give up.  I still know this surgery was the best thing for me, and nothing tastes as good as thin feels1 Share your thoughts or words of wisdom, ok? blessings, Tami

Tami, maybe I felt invincible also but I said to myself all along "I won't gain any weight".  As you can see from my post, I did.  Even when I was following the program 95% of the time, some gain came back.   Then with my routine being thrown out the window all he(( broke lose. Don't let the gain consume your life, if you are doing what you should and you gained then your body needed to gain some weight.  I do believe we focus on the scale too much (I know I do).  My goal is to not get back to my lowest but to lose 5-6 lbs and not feel bloated or let the thought of food consume my life. Glad to see you here, it's been awhile, I just don't have as much time right now to be on the boards like I want to. Hugs,

I don't have any wisdom (about anything). I'm nearly 15 months post-op and I'm waiting on 20 pounds to appear on my hips. I actually lost 50 pounds below my doctor's goal, and my personal goal was 170, just based on how women my height and age look at that weight. But now I'm in the 130's and I can wear a size 6, and I sure do like it. Most people say I looked better 10 or 15 pounds heavier, but I really like it down here. I know you must hear it all the time, but if you can wear a size 4, you sure aren't overweight by any standards. I bet some of your gain is due to toning, and that's a good thing.

thanks ladies.  It is a struggle.  and I know that stupid scale can be obsessive! Have been swelling in my feet and ankles lately don't like that, but am healthy otherwise! A friend told me I looked pale and unhealthy at my lowest weight....that I look much healthier now.  i do agree.  Did look a bit skeletal, but liked fitting into size 3.  That is just not reality though! lol! blessings, Tami

Tami,  I agree with everyone else. YOu have done such a fantastic job and maybe your body just needed a little more to run on, especially since you seem to be very active. I bounce all around in the 150's, but as long as I still fit into my pants I'm fine with it! I'd say if you're a size 4 then your good~that's tiny lady! My lowest was 150 (I am 5'9"), but it is WAY too hard for me to maintain at that low of a weight~I do much better between 153-157 so I give myself that leeway b/c it is truly just a mental obsession with seeing a certain # on the scale. I often wonder if other people notice any difference in my weight from day to day~probably not~its just me. Well, hang in there and keep doing all the good things that you've been doing!!!!
