Water Intake - What counts?

Hi All, I'm on day 4 of the pouch test, and I'm really trying to get all my water in - in between eating.  Can anyone tell me what counts towards your daily water intake? Crystal Light - I know this is counted, but how about Tea? Coffee? Protein drinks made with water?  This is the one I'm most interested in getting an answer. Also, by the way, I am on my second week of the pouch test, took a week break, and I have not lost a pound (according to my scales).  I lost 7 lbs. on the first week of the pouch test, but this week not a pound!! This might sound like a stupid question, but could it be because I am not exercising everyday?  In fact I only did a little walking during my second week of the pouch test.  I did do 30 min. of aerobics this morning.

Janice, I've always been under the impression tha****er intake is anything calorie free and caffiene free.  However, I've heard others count their protein drinks as their liquid intake. As for losing weight.....please remember the 5 day pouch test is meant as a means to restart the restriction of the pouch not necessarily to help with weight loss.  I feel any weight loss is just a plus, gaining control of our eating IMO is what really counts. Best wishes,

In terms of "water" intake, any non caloric drink can be counted.  I would not count more then 1 protein drink as "water".....but that's just me.   The reason behind getting in enough water is tha****er helps in digestion, and it's necessary for you to metabolize fat.  If you are dehydrated even 3 percent you will slow down your weight loss.  I actually strive to drink 150 oz of water/non caloric beverages a day...based on my current weight and activity.......if you stay on the low end (64 oz), I'd probably stay away from caffine...although it is believed currently that it is not as bad of a dieuretic as it once was.....for some people (*****act to it)...it causes them to urinate more frequently. I am so glad that someone else has brought this up I am 2 1/2 mos out and I am still having difficulty drinking enough water or liquid. I can only drink a little at a time because the water will just come back up if I try to drink it too fast.  I don't have a job that will let me sip on water all day so I can't just sip on water continuously. Before surgery, I was used to drinking large amounts of water at once to make sure I was getting what I needed daily, but now I am barely getting down 48 oz per day.  I have been improving because I have discovered that if I drink it warm or room temp. instead of cold it all goes down much easier.  Does any one have suggestions?
