food coming up???

I am 3 1/2 years po and I have been having a problem lately that when i eat meals I have to burp afterwards and alot of food goes into my throat the meals are not that large same as usual and this has never happened before but it has been happening alot lately, anyone have any ideas is this something worth calling my surgeon over? any advice would  be great. thanks - christina
