Anyone have experience with the "DASH" diet?

I had RNY bypass just over two years ago. For a while my blood pressure issues went away but I find now that it is high enough to go back on medication. I hate that.  I just read that there is a "Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension" (DASH) diet that should help reduce blood pressure problems without medication but I do not know if it is appropriate for folks like us.  Anyone seen this, discussed it, modified it for our special cir****tances? Have a great day. Rich

Howdy Rich! If you email me tomorrow through my profile i'll email you all I have on the DASH diet from our hospital. I used to be on the cardiac team but have recently moved into management and we utilize the DASH diet as part of our curriculum for lowering hypertension and it's not bad for us rny'ers. Be Well and have a great night, remind me and I'll find hte recipes too. ANDI

Thanks, ANDI. I asked this question on the diet and nutrition board as well and got a reply to modify it as needed for protein requirements, cut down a little on carbs and keep the fat and salt recommendations. I tried to locate your profile and it seems to be inactive or locked out. Have a great day. Rich
