Ok gang I am back on my treadmill everyday and found my watch type heart rate monitor hanging on it but cant find the paperwork. Question is anyone know what number should be aiming for during exercise?  it has been redaing between 119 & 159 when Im on the treadmill and i tested it completely rested and it reads between 59 & 61. I remember there being some percentage but cant remember what to aim for   any help? Diana

Hey Diana, I dont have the answer for you but I think you are talking about target heart rate? Google that and there are tons of calculators that will give you the numbers. Hope that helps,

Here's a link to the calculator at the Mayo Clinic website -> http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/target-heart-rate/SM00083 This will give you a pretty broad range (mine ranges from 108-153 and I'm 40 years old).  If you're just starting back, you'll want to build a good cardio base in the lower portion of your range.  When you've got a good base established, then you can work out in some of your upper ranges.... Good luck! Kellie
