I found you! Day 1 of 5DPT

All it took was a simple google search saying "weight loss surgery back to basics" and I came across the 5 Day Pouch Test. Immediately researched all over the boards here and on Living and then went straight to the store to stock up on my favorite liquid diet items.  yummmm SF Caramel Pudding.  I can't do just chicken broth - I think it's a mindset because of the pre-op diet and all the broth I drank after surgery.  blech. So here I am with my tummy pretending to growl thinking it's hungry - silly thing!  I'm determined to break this rut of being within the same 8 pounds since February!! ~Tisha

Oh I LOVE sf caramel pudding. Walmart also has a mint chocolate pudding and I really like that one too. I can't do the broth either - it's just gross, I feel like I drinking watery grease!! Yesterday I did protein drinks and pudding, water, ice tea, and to go sticks. Thats it.  Now day 2. I keep telling myself "I did it for one day, I can do it again today"!!!! Woooo Hoooooo  My tummy pretending to growl too. LOL But I lost 2 pounds yesterday so it can just growl away!!!!!!!!

Mmm...chocolate mint - I saw that yesterday at the store but I didn't get it.  I should try that, too. Yes, I agree...chicken broth IS like watery grease!  I was talking to my ex about chicken broth yesterday (He's going through the approval process now) and I told him about the broth - we were still together when I had my surgery and my initial recovery periods but he never knew how much I hated it!  I feel like I was discouraging him a little but I assured him that it's really not that bad.  Yes, I fibbed but I don't want him to have ANY excuses! lol Good for you!  Day 2 will be over before you know it!  That's what I'm telling myself about Day 1.  If I have to go to bed early tonight, so be it! I really needed this because the carb monster has reared his ugly head for way too long.  I don't feel as though I need to really lose that much more weight - I'm at a comfortable size 10 - but I don't feel as though I'm eating as I should and that's making a huge different in how lazy I am, etc.

Me too, I'm technically below goal and don't "need" to lose more (although my vanity says just 5 more pounds) lol  but I have gotten in the habit of carbs, carbs, and more carbs. I wanted to break that cycle of carb cravings. That and I hope to reset my sugar tolerance (to a lower number) right now I can eat about 15 grams of sugar with no problem. Anything over that and it'**** or miss if I'll dum*****t. UGH, it's sad that I even know that!!!!!!  Have a great day!!! Keep busy, that worked well for me. Ididn't allow myself any down time yesterday.

Yes!  Breaking the cycle of carb cravings is exactly what I'm looking for.  I know what I can get away with and what I can't get away with ... Dark chocolate has been my friend, and enemy. Nope - no down time for me at all.  We are getting ready to head right into Open Enrollment for the companies we administer benefits for so I'm sure that will keep me pretty busy all day long. Have a good one!

Hey Tisha! I did the 5 days last week and it really did help. I'm going to watch  things closely this week and see what happens. I hope it goes well for you too!

Woo-Hoo! Good for you, Tracy...I love reading how it helped others to get "back on track": Some crazy crazy person heated up a cinnamon roll in the kitchen earlier right when I decided to go have some pudding. How Rude! lol!
