Hi all, well this is hard to believe, but I have never been to the grad board, in all the time Ive been at OH.  I had surgery April 2005.  I am still the world slowest loser, I think, and never got any where near my goal.  That said, I am still a lot better off than I used to be.  Thing is, in the past couple of months I have put on about 10lbs and that scares me to death.  I know I am eating the wrong foods, but surely not enough to put on 10lbs.  I felt so alone and desperate, then I saw someone mention the grad board on the main message board and thought I would pop over and have a look and low and behold, there are others here who are going through the same thing.  I hope so much to at least lose the 10lbs that I have put on, and more wouldnt go astray either as I never got thin. grrrrr. love to hear from any of you, how you are going, tips for me to get going etc hugs, Helen

Thanks, Brenda, I feel such a relief to have found that Im not the only one gaining!!  I really feel motivated after reading back over the past couple of days posts and hearing about the pouch test.  I have so much stuff going on in my life at the moment, that I know if I try just shakes I wont make it, but may try a few days of the soft protein and see how I cope with that.  It is coming into summer here in Australia and hope to lose this excess. hugs, Helen

Hi Helen I'm brand new to the grad board too and also never knew it was here until yesterday.    Have you heard about the 5 Day Pouch Test?  Many who have started gaining have done this and gotten back on track and started losing again.  Give it a try and see if it won't help you too.

Hi Tracey, yes i just read about the pouch test and it sounds like the best idea.  I am going to try soft proteins for a few days and see how I cope with that, then maybe go for the full test. hugs, Helen

Welcome! I don't post very frequently, but I come to the grads board every day to read.  You'll love it!  Not nearly as many posts, but almost all of them are relevant to us grads, and there's NO "high drama" that sometimes crops up on the main board.   I never thought I'd say it, but I only infrequently go to the main board any more--only when I have extra time. You have already discovered that most of us are in similar stages of struggling with re-gain or just trying to finally get to the goal that we never reached in the first place.  So you won't feel alone with your frustrations and struggles and will find out what others are doing about them.  And those who have been more successful at reaching/maintaining goal--they are equally supportive of everyone here, and they help motivate me a lot! Hope to "see" you here often!

Always,
Jo

Welcome to the Graduate board!  I had my surgery on 8/22/2002 and found this board about 6 months ago.  I usually come here and to my state board.  I work nights so if I get bored I will check out the main board also but I don't care for the "drama" there also.  The people are wonderful here and we all have a lot in common.  I will be starting the 5-day pouch test on Thursday also and I'm looking forward to it!  I really think it'll get my mind and body back where it needs to be and I can start loosing again!   See ya soon and again Welcome to the Graduate board!!!

Thanks Sheryl, I think its a good idea to "shock" our bodies back into it again.  Good luck with it, let me know how you go. Helen
